900 cases a day, a sharp increase in the number of people receiving intravenous drips? Urgent reminders in many places! Beijing has launched——

Since the start of the school year in September, Shanghai pediatric hospitals have welcomed a small peak in visits. It is reported that since last week, the number of children with fever has been increasing, and the number of outpatient visits has increased by 30% compared with before September 1. During the peak period of weekend visits, the number of patients receiving intravenous drips can reach 900 per day . What happened? Influenza A, mycoplasma, etc.

The number of people infected with pathogenic microorganisms has increased sharply

Reporters saw at the Children's Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University in Shanghai that within two hours of opening on the morning of the 13th, more than 90 children registered, all with fever. After 10:30, the number of children with fever increased, and the fever emergency department increased from 3 clinics to 5. A patient waited for 45 minutes before seeing a doctor. According to data from Fudan Children's Hospital: Recently, children's fever is mainly concentrated in infections with pathogenic microorganisms such as influenza A and mycoplasma. Among them, more than 100 cases of influenza A were detected in a single day, an increase of 30% compared with before September 1. During the peak period of weekend visits, the number of people receiving intravenous drips in a single day can reach 900.

Although the symptoms of mycoplasma pneumonia are very similar to those of the common cold or influenza, it is neither a bacterium nor a virus, but a special pathogen. Therefore, if many parents do not pay attention to it in the early stage and buy cold medicine or anti-inflammatory drugs for their children, it will not only be inappropriate and ineffective, but also delay the best time for treatment.

Flu prevention reminder

After the recent heavy rains, the temperature in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, dropped suddenly, and some hospitals also saw a sudden increase in pediatric outpatients. Many kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in Xi'an have issued flu prevention tips. Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Chengdu, Sichuan and other places have also issued reminders that with the change of seasons, attention should be paid to preventing infectious diseases such as flu.

What are influenza A and mycoplasma pneumonia?

"Influenza A" is the abbreviation of influenza A, an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by influenza A virus infection. Influenza viruses can be divided into four types: A, B, C, and D according to their core proteins. The influenza viruses that are seasonally prevalent in the human population are influenza A (A H1N1 subtype and A H3N2 subtype) and influenza B (Yamagata and Victoria lineages). Compared with influenza B virus, influenza A virus has many hosts in nature and is more prone to mutation or reassortment, causing it to spread rapidly among the human population. Many large-scale influenza outbreaks in history have been related to influenza A virus.

Mycoplasma infection is mainly transmitted through direct contact and droplet transmission. According to experts, compared with previous years, mycoplasma pneumonia in China has also appeared at a younger age this year, and some children under 3 years old have also fallen ill. Parents should take their children to see a doctor in time after the relevant symptoms appear. At present, there is no targeted vaccine to prevent mycoplasma pneumonia , so experts remind everyone to pay attention to indoor ventilation, try to avoid crowded and poorly ventilated public places, and wear masks when you must go.

How to determine if you have influenza A?

Have you ever been in contact with a person with influenza A?

The most important thing is to judge the epidemiological history. If you have been in contact with patients with influenza A, or many people around you have similar symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, etc., it is possible that it is influenza A.

Based on clinical manifestations

The symptoms of influenza are usually systemic. In addition to fever, cough, sore throat, nasal congestion and runny nose, they are often accompanied by headache, fatigue, muscle and joint pain, etc.

Pathogen Detection

Identification is done through pathogen testing, such as influenza A throat swab testing.

Getting the flu vaccine is an effective way to prevent influenza A.

Beijing officially launched influenza vaccination work on September 15

Beijing's influenza vaccination work was officially launched on September 15, and was carried out in batches for different groups of people. The first batch started with vaccination services for Beijing-based elderly people aged 60 and above , and simultaneously launched vaccination publicity and mobilization for students in primary and secondary schools, secondary vocational schools and technical colleges.

The second batch will mainly target students in primary and secondary schools, secondary vocational schools and technical colleges , and simultaneously launch the self-paid influenza vaccination program for the entire society.

The third batch will mainly target frontline emergency support personnel in cities , and will also provide additional vaccinations for the first two batches. The actual work will be adjusted dynamically according to specific circumstances. It is expected that the free vaccination work will end at the end of November, and the self-paid vaccination work will continue until the end of February 2024.

This year, we will continue to use the two methods of unified organization and advance appointment to carry out influenza vaccination. People who receive free vaccination can be organized by the relevant responsible units and make appointments for vaccination in batches and time periods. Primary and secondary school students will be organized by the school and vaccinated uniformly with the consent of their parents;

Elderly people aged 60 or above who are Beijing residents can be organized by the village/neighborhood committee to go to the influenza vaccination clinic for vaccination during the agreed time period with their valid ID card or social security card.

People who pay for the vaccination at their own expense need to make an appointment in advance with the vaccination clinic. They can make an appointment through the Capital Vaccine Service APP, telephone, on-site registration, WeChat public account and other appointment methods.

Each district will reasonably set up free and self-paid influenza vaccination sites in accordance with the vaccination needs of residents, and citizens can choose to make an appointment for vaccination nearby. After September 15, if you need to check the address of the vaccination clinic, you can log in to the website of Beijing Municipal Health Commission or Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Monitoring data in previous years show that the peak of influenza epidemic in Beijing often occurs around New Year's Day . Vaccination 14 days before the peak of the epidemic can produce effective immune protection. Citizens are requested to arrange appointments for vaccinations reasonably according to their own needs and the unified arrangements of the city to avoid crowding for vaccination.
