What causes dysmenorrhea?

Speaking of dysmenorrhea, it is believed that every woman has experienced it. There are many reasons for dysmenorrhea. It may be caused by some disease reasons, or it may be caused by people eating cold and irritating foods during menstruation, etc. If people want to relieve dysmenorrhea, they must understand its causes. Below we will introduce in detail the causes of dysmenorrhea.

Dysmenorrhea is divided into two categories, one is primary dysmenorrhea and the other is secondary dysmenorrhea. The so-called primary dysmenorrhea means that it occurs from the first menstruation of a woman or after the first menstruation, and is accompanied by dysmenorrhea. Then it is primary dysmenorrhea. The characteristic of primary dysmenorrhea is that she only feels pain during the menstrual period from the first menstruation, and it is menstrual pain. The nature of the pain usually does not change significantly, and the pain is always of this degree.

Secondary dysmenorrhea means that the woman does not feel any pain at the beginning of her period, but develops dysmenorrhea gradually later on, and the dysmenorrhea may become increasingly severe. Primary dysmenorrhea is mostly not caused by organic diseases, but may be caused by functional diseases, which can be relieved by some Chinese patent medicines or painkillers. Secondary dysmenorrhea is mostly caused by some organic diseases, and the most common cause of secondary dysmenorrhea is endometriosis.

About 50% of patients with endometriosis suffer from dysmenorrhea, and its characteristic is secondary dysmenorrhea that gradually worsens. For these patients, we would recommend them to have a gynecological examination and a pelvic ultrasound to find out whether there are pelvic endometriosis lesions or ovarian cysts. If necessary, they should be treated with surgery or medication.
