Can I do a paternity test during pregnancy?

Premarital sex is now a very common thing. What men and women care about in a relationship now is whether they are happy, so changing boyfriends and girlfriends is also a very common thing. Some women are more open when it comes to relationships between men and women, and their private lives can be said to be messy. Sometimes, if defensive measures are not taken properly, it will lead to unexpected pregnancy, and the man will be held responsible. Then the man may ask for a paternity test. So can a paternity test be done during pregnancy?

Amniotic fluid can be drawn for paternity testing between the 16th and 24th weeks of pregnancy. The drawing of amniotic fluid needs to be done in a regular tertiary hospital. An electrocardiogram, B-ultrasound, blood routine, and urine routine will be done before the drawing. Some hospitals will also check the cleanliness of the vagina. The doctor will only perform amniocentesis if all the examinations are passed. Fetal paternity testing requires a sample from the mother, amniotic fluid, and a sample from the suspected father. Standard samples include blood, blood stains, hair with hair follicles, and oral mucosal cells. Medicine is more advanced now. Just follow the doctor's instructions strictly and get enough rest. Most of them are fine.

Application scope of paternity testing:

1. Conventional biological blood relationship identification: This is the most in-demand type of parental relationship identification at present, including parental and child tripartite identification (also known as a triad) and father and son (or mother and son) pair identification (also known as a dyad). The accuracy of this type of identification can reach 99.999999%.

2. Inter-generational kinship identification: This type of identification refers to confirming the kinship between great-grandparents, grandparents, and great-grandchildren and grandchildren. It also includes simple paternal kinship identification, such as confirming the kinship between great-grandfather, grandfather, and great-grandson, and grandson, as well as simple maternal kinship identification, such as confirming the kinship between great-grandmother, grandmother, and granddaughter, great-granddaughter.
