Breast tenderness and elevated temperature

Breast tenderness and elevated temperature

We all know that women often feel chest pain and breast swelling before menstruation, and their body temperature rises. Some women even feel very thirsty. With the arrival of menstruation, these phenomena will gradually disappear. However, some women will also experience such changes in their bodies before pregnancy. Women should not worry too much and relax. So what should we do if we have breast pain and fever?

Menopause

This is the earliest symptom of pregnancy. Healthy women of childbearing age with a history of sexual life usually have regular menstruation. If their period is delayed, they should consider the possibility of pregnancy, especially if their period has stopped for more than 10 days. If their period has not come for more than 2 months, the possibility of pregnancy is even greater. Although amenorrhea is a sign of early pregnancy, it is not absolute evidence. The establishment and maintenance of normal menstruation depends on the neuroendocrine regulation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis, the cyclical response of the target organ endometrium to sex hormones and the patency of the lower reproductive tract. Problems in any of these links may affect the normal occurrence of menstruation. Therefore, if the possibility of pregnancy is ruled out, you should actively look for the cause of amenorrhea under the guidance of a doctor so that targeted treatment can be given.

In addition, some women may experience a little blood on their underwear before and after their period after they become pregnant, but the blood is not as red as normal menstrual blood and the amount is relatively small. This may be slight bleeding caused by the fertilized egg implanting in the endometrium. In this case, the possibility of pregnancy should also be considered.

Early pregnancy reaction

About six weeks after the menstruation stops, the level of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the pregnant woman's body increases, gastric acid secretion decreases, and gastric emptying time is prolonged. She may experience a series of reactions such as chills, dizziness, drooling, fatigue, drowsiness, loss of appetite, preference for sour foods, aversion to greasy foods, nausea, and vomiting in the morning. These reactions are collectively called early pregnancy reactions. These symptoms generally do not require special treatment and will disappear on their own around 12 weeks after the menstruation stops as the HCG level in the body decreases.

It should be noted that some women may experience migraines or headaches due to hormonal changes, which are similar to symptoms of an impending cold. If a woman who is preparing for pregnancy has her period missed and experiences the above symptoms, she should be especially careful and go to the hospital in time to check whether she is pregnant. Never think that she has a cold and take antipyretic and analgesic drugs or other drugs on her own.

Frequent urination

Because the female genitals are adjacent to the bladder, there is a close connection between the blood vessels, lymph and nerves between them. In the early stages of pregnancy, due to the influence of hormonal changes in the body, the pelvic cavity becomes congested, stimulating the bladder and causing the urge to urinate. In addition, in the early stages of pregnancy, the uterus is still in the pelvic cavity. As the embryo develops, the enlarged uterus presses on the bladder, which can reduce the bladder storage capacity than usual and increase the frequency of urination, but the amount of urine excreted each time is less than usual. However, as the uterus grows beyond the pelvic cavity, this symptom of frequent urination will gradually disappear.

Breast tenderness

After pregnancy, due to the increase in hormone levels in the body, the breasts begin to develop and become obviously congested. At this time, you can feel a swelling or occasional tenderness and tingling in the breasts. As the mammary glands grow larger, the veins under the skin become clearly visible. The nipples slowly grow larger and darker, becoming easier to erect. The color of the areola also becomes darker than before, and the sebaceous glands around the areola proliferate and dark brown nodules appear. Some pregnant mothers may see a small amount of secretion when they occasionally squeeze their nipples. These subtle changes are the breasts actively preparing for conceiving a baby and future breastfeeding.

Increased basal body temperature

Due to the influence of progesterone secreted by the corpus luteum of pregnancy on the body temperature regulation center, the body temperature of pregnant women continues to maintain a high level, which is manifested in always feeling a little hot. If the high temperature phase continues for 18 days without dropping, the possibility of early pregnancy is very high. If the high temperature phase lasts for more than 3 weeks, the possibility of early pregnancy is even greater.

In short, once you suspect you are pregnant, you should do a pregnancy test as soon as possible to confirm the pregnancy. For women who confirm their pregnancy through early pregnancy test strips, since early pregnancy test strips can only perform qualitative testing on the HCG content in urine, that is, early pregnancy test strips can only tell you whether you are pregnant, so you must go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination 6-7 weeks after menstruation to confirm intrauterine pregnancy, determine the gestational age, and understand the development of the embryo, etc.
