What happens if I have brown discharge before my period?

Menstruation is a very important physiological phenomenon for women. 1. Ovulation bleeding.

During ovulation, due to a temporary drop in estrogen levels, the endometrium loses hormonal support and some endometrium sheds, causing regular non-menstrual vaginal bleeding, which is called ovulation bleeding. Some women may also experience non-menstrual brown discharge without vaginal bleeding, but this is also considered ovulation bleeding. Ovulation bleeding usually occurs in the middle of two menstrual cycles, and the vaginal bleeding or brown discharge caused by it usually lasts for 2 to 3 days. If non-menstrual brown discharge occurs regularly in the middle of your menstrual cycle, then you should consider the possibility of ovulation bleeding.

2. Non-ovulation period.

(1) Chronic cervicitis. Chronic cervicitis such as cervical erosion and cervical polyps can cause non-menstrual brown discharge.

(2) Dysfunctional uterine bleeding. The full name is dysfunctional uterine bleeding, which is characterized by irregular menstrual cycles and changes in the amount and nature of uterine bleeding. If non-menstrual brown discharge is accompanied by menstrual disorders, the possibility of functional uterine bleeding should be considered.

(3) Caused by excessive stress in life and excessive physical fatigue.

3. Vaginal bleeding between two menstrual periods after the menstrual period is over may be physiological or pathological. The most common of the former is vaginal bleeding during ovulation, which is characterized by mild lower abdominal pain and discomfort during a small amount of bleeding, and basal body temperature changes during ovulation. The latter is characterized by cervical erosion, polyps or cervical cancer, especially when it occurs frequently after sexual intercourse. This is because the contact and friction of the sexual organs cause damage and congestion to the affected area, resulting in blood exudation.
