Is it normal for women to bleed during ovulation?

Recently, many female friends have experienced this situation, that is, bleeding again more than ten days after the menstruation ended. Some girls are in puberty and have just started menstruation. They don’t understand it very well and mistakenly think that this is a normal physiological reaction. However, experienced mature women will understand that this should not be a normal menstruation, because about ten days is the ovulation period, and there will be no bleeding during this period. So they went to see a doctor, and the doctor confirmed to them that this is indeed ovulation bleeding! So, why do women bleed during ovulation? Is this bleeding normal?

Many female friends panic when they encounter ovulation bleeding. In a normal woman's menstrual cycle, the 12th to 14th day is the date of ovulation. At this time, due to the rupture of the follicle and the fluctuation of estrogen, the vascular permeability changes and red blood cells leak out of the blood vessels, causing a small amount of vaginal bleeding. This is the ovulation bleeding phenomenon.

If you have bleeding outside of your menstrual period, you must first determine whether it is ovulation bleeding! If you want to determine whether it is ovulation bleeding, you can measure your basal body temperature and observe the relationship between bleeding and body temperature. So as to avoid mistaking it for ovulation bleeding and neglecting the early diagnosis and treatment of other diseases. Ovulation bleeding is generally small in amount and short in duration, so no bleeding treatment is required. If the amount of bleeding is heavy, you can take hemostatic drugs to control the bleeding.

What are the symptoms of ovulation bleeding? Ovulation bleeding may be accompanied by pain and discomfort in the lower abdomen. This may be due to serosal or bloody exudation or a small amount of blood accumulation in the pelvic cavity during ovulation. Generally, no treatment is required. If the pain is severe and does not last for a long time, you must see a doctor to rule out other diseases.

The most common and easy way to diagnose ovulation bleeding is to measure basal body temperature.

That is, after waking up in the morning, before doing any activities, measure your oral temperature immediately for 5 minutes, and record the measured results on the basal body temperature sheet day by day. After ovulation, due to the influence of pregnancy hormone, body temperature may rise by 0.3~0.5℃ and last for 12~14 days, and then return to the original level 1~2 days before the next menstruation. If you find that a small amount of bleeding during the menstrual week occurs before or after the body temperature rises, it can be clearly diagnosed as ovulation bleeding. Other examination methods include cervical mucus examination, scraping of the endometrium for pathological examination during mid-menstrual bleeding, follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone measurement, B-type ultrasound exploration, etc. These can help determine whether vaginal bleeding coincides with ovulation. Except for measuring basal body temperature, all other examinations need to be performed in the hospital.

Since most women have less bleeding during ovulation, shorter bleeding time, and do not bleed in every menstrual cycle, it does not have much impact on the body and generally does not require treatment.

However, it should be noted that other diseases of the reproductive system must be ruled out, such as menstrual disorders, cervicitis, cervical or endometrial polyps, uterine submucous fibroids, cervical cancer, endometrial adenocarcinoma, etc. If the amount of bleeding during ovulation is heavy, occurs frequently, and has affected the couple's sexual life and even affected conception, treatment should be given.

During treatment, Western medicine mostly uses estrogen drugs. Generally, 0.5 mg of diethylstilbestrol and 0.01-0.015 mg of ethinyl estradiol are taken orally 2 days before the expected bleeding. A 1 mg injection of estradiol benzoate can also be given intramuscularly 2 days before the expected bleeding. Women who do not want to have children can also take oral contraceptives No. 1 or No. 2 to inhibit ovulation. Traditional Chinese medicine is mainly used to tonify the kidney. You can use 12 grams of Rehmannia root, 15 grams of Chinese yam, 10 grams of Cornus officinalis, 12 grams of Cuscuta australis, 9 grams of Epimedium, 10 grams of Dipsacus asper, 15 grams of Rehmannia glutinosa, and 15 grams of Houttuynia cordata. Start taking one dose a day a few days before the expected bleeding, decocted in water, for 7 to 10 days. If there are symptoms such as irritability, swelling and pain in both breasts and lower abdomen before menstruation, add 10 grams of Moutan bark, 6-8 grams of Bupleurum, and 12 grams of Chinese paeonia lactiflora to the above ingredients.

The above is what the editor introduced to you today about the issue of female ovulation bleeding. If you happen to have bleeding during the ovulation period, don’t be nervous. You must know the cause of it, and then go to a large hospital as soon as possible, seek help from a doctor, and do some relevant examinations to rule out the possibility of other diseases. Finally, I would like to remind all women to go to a regular hospital to avoid risks.
