What to do if you have leucorrhea during pregnancy

For every newly married couple, pregnancy becomes the top priority for the small family. Everyone hopes that they can give birth to a healthy baby safely. Of course, after pregnancy, there will be some changes in the physical condition of expectant mothers, but the changes will also be different depending on different physical conditions. So when you find any physical changes in you, don’t be too nervous. It is best to go to the hospital to see a doctor.

A small number of women will experience bloody vaginal discharge in the early stages of pregnancy. Is it normal to have bloody vaginal discharge in the early stages of pregnancy? Bloody vaginal discharge in early pregnancy usually indicates bleeding in the female reproductive organs. The presence of blood in leucorrhea in early pregnancy may be due to physiological or pathological reasons.

1. Physiological reasons for bloody leucorrhea in early pregnancy:

This is usually caused by implantation bleeding. When the fertilized egg implants, the placenta fails to synthesize enough estrogen and progesterone, and the ovaries continue to function. The endometrium (decidua pericyta) attached to the placenta and covering the surface of the blastocyst has not completely fused with the true decidua on the surface of the uterine cavity that is not in direct contact with the blastocyst, resulting in a gap. Therefore, the endometrium can still fall off and bleeding may occur. The amount of bleeding during implantation of the fertilized egg is very small, usually manifested as blood streaks or blood spots in the leucorrhea. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. If the pregnant woman has no obvious discomfort and the amount of bleeding is not much, there is no need to worry too much.

2. Pathological reasons for bloody leucorrhea in early pregnancy:

If a pregnant woman has had excessive and unclean sexual life, does not pay attention to menstrual protection, has too many births, too frequent miscarriages, does not receive timely treatment after infection, or has cervical injury during delivery or miscarriage, these factors can all cause cervicitis, which will lead to damage to the reproductive system and bleeding, resulting in blood in the leucorrhea. Pregnant women with these conditions are advised to undergo timely examination and treatment to avoid affecting the fetus.

There are many reasons for the presence of blood in vaginal discharge during pregnancy. If an individual cannot tell which cause it is, once bleeding is discovered during pregnancy, they should seek medical attention in time, find out the cause and receive targeted treatment.

Precautions for leucorrhea with blood in early pregnancy

1. In daily life, wear less jeans and tight pants as they are not good for the perineum. Wear more loose clothes. And underwear should also be made of cotton.

2. Regular check-ups: Even if you do not experience any discomfort, you should go to the hospital for regular check-ups. It is best to have a comprehensive gynecological examination once a year.

3. Enhance immunity: You can exercise during your rest time, mainly to enhance your physical fitness. In daily life, we should eat a reasonable diet, have a balanced nutrition, get enough sleep, and eat more foods rich in vitamins.

4. Psychological adjustment: When you are under a lot of pressure at work, you should learn to relax yourself. Maintain a good mental state and avoid excessive excitement and impatience.

5. Don’t use sanitary pads: During ovulation, women’s secretions will increase, so women will choose to use sanitary pads at this time because they think this can keep their vagina clean. But this is not the case, because panty liners have poor breathability. If you use panty liners for a long time, it may cause bacteria to invade and eventually cause inflammation. Also, do not use various medicinal solutions to clean the vagina frequently, as this will damage the vaginal environment, cause dysbacteriosis and induce vaginitis.

Therefore, for expectant mothers, it is not just about thinking about how to make the baby grow healthily or absorb more nutrients. You must not be careless about your personal care. It is best to avoid any gynecological diseases during pregnancy.
