Is breast tumor surgery necessary?

For breast tumor patients, they just want to get rid of the trouble of the disease, so they think that breast tumor surgery is the wisest and most correct choice. But is breast tumor surgery necessary? This issue has always been a controversial topic, so I would like to provide these patients with some views and opinions from all sides so that they can learn more about this aspect and ultimately make their own choices rationally and soberly.

Is breast tumor surgery necessary? Under the stimulation of estrogen, the epithelial tissue and fibrous tissue of the breast will undergo varying degrees of proliferation, thus forming breast fibroadenomas. While breast cancer poses a life-threatening threat to female friends, benign breast tumors also bring them indescribable pain. Among them, breast fibroadenomas are the most common, accounting for 3/4 of all benign tumors.

Adenofibromas may occur at any age after puberty, but are most common in young women because their ovaries are active and estrogen levels are at their peak.

Breast fibroids have little to do with breast cancer and their rate of malignant transformation is also very low. However, during pregnancy, fibroids may suddenly grow larger and become sarcomas. Women over 40 years old, especially those who develop fibroids during menopause and after menopause, have an increased risk of malignant transformation. Patients with cystic breast hyperplasia who also have breast fibroids will also increase their risk of cancer.

The effect of drugs on breast fibroids appears to be very small at present, and surgery is the only effective way to treat this benign tumor. However, due to the importance of breasts to women, surgery should never be performed unless necessary to avoid leaving physical blemishes. At this time, the advice of an experienced doctor will be extremely important. Of course, it would be a big mistake to ignore it. Young patients with breast fibroids must be highly vigilant and go to the hospital for a check-up every six months to prevent the disease from worsening and wait until they are a little older before having surgery.

In addition, cystic breast hyperplasia, large duct papilloma of the breast, lipoma, and breast leiomyoma are also common benign breast tumors. Although their chances of malignancy are not high and there is no need to perform surgical removal as soon as they are discovered, it is still very important and indispensable to go to the hospital for regular check-ups and conduct dynamic follow-up monitoring of the disease.

Is breast tumor surgery necessary? There is no definite answer to this question; it depends on the specific situation. If the patient's breast tumor is in good condition, has not spread, and can be completely controlled by medication, then this surgery is not necessary. On the contrary, if the situation is very serious, breast tumor surgery may be the first choice.
