How to detect ovulation

How to detect ovulation

The menstrual cycle of women of childbearing age with normal physical development is approximately once a month. The period from the beginning of one menstruation to the first day of the next menstruation is called a menstrual cycle. From a physiological point of view, each menstrual cycle is divided into menstrual period, ovulation period and safe period.

During ovulation, women's bodies will undergo some changes due to fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels. Therefore, female friends can infer whether they are ovulating by sensing abnormalities in their own body.

Calculate female ovulation period

The menstrual cycle of women of childbearing age with normal physical development is approximately once a month. The period from the beginning of one menstruation to the first day of the next menstruation is called a menstrual cycle. From a physiological point of view, each menstrual cycle is divided into menstrual period, ovulation period and safe period. A woman's ovulation date is generally about 14 days before the next menstrual period. The 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation, together with the ovulation day, a total of 10 days are called the ovulation period.

What are the symptoms of ovulation?

1. Changes in basal body temperature:

During a menstrual cycle, the basal body temperature of normal women of childbearing age is lower before ovulation and rises after ovulation. Generally, the temperature difference between the two can reach about 0.5℃, showing a typical biphasic body temperature curve. This body temperature curve indicates that the ovaries have ovulation function, and the junction of the high and low body temperature curves is the ovulation date of the ovaries.

2. Cervix and cervical mucus:

During the ovulation cycle, the cervix is affected by estrogen and progesterone, causing changes in secretion and opening and closing. As the follicle develops, the secretion of estrogen increases, the cervix relaxes and opens, the amount of mucus increases, the viscosity is minimal, it is clear and transparent like egg white, and the tension (stringiness) gradually increases; after ovulation, the amount of mucus secreted rapidly under the influence of progesterone

It decreases and thickens, and the cervix closes.

3. Ovulation pain:

It is a symptom of ovulation. About 1/3 of women experience ovulation pain. The pain occurs in the lower abdomen on the ovulation side and is severe pain or persistent dull pain that lasts for 6-12 hours. During ovulation, due to the increase of prostaglandins in the body, the pressure in the follicular fluid cavity increases, and the surface of the ovary will rupture to release the egg. This rupture process can cause lower abdominal pain in some sensitive women.

4. Ovulation bleeding:

It is a symptom after ovulation, usually lasting 2-3 days, with little bleeding, sometimes only showing as slightly reddish leucorrhea. Ovulation bleeding may be caused by the fact that after the mature follicle ruptures and ovulates, the estrogen level drops sharply, unable to maintain normal endometrial growth, causing local shedding of the surface layer of the endometrium, resulting in breakthrough bleeding. Bleeding may be accompanied by pain and discomfort in the lower abdomen, which generally does not require treatment.

Through the above introduction, most women can know their ovulation status and try to have sex during this period to increase the success rate of conception. If female friends want to get pregnant but have not been able to do so, experts remind you: you should choose a regular specialist hospital, get diagnosed and treated as soon as possible, so as to get pregnant early.
