What does secondary infertility mean?

What does secondary infertility mean?

In recent years, the prevalence of infertility has gradually increased, especially among women over 35 years old. Infertility can be divided into primary infertility and secondary infertility. Therefore, to treat infertility, we must first find out the cause.

1. Multiple abortions in a short period of time, especially repeated abortions, are most likely to damage the cervix, uterine wall and myometrium, causing uterine wall growth stagnation, cervical adhesions, irregular menstruation, etc., which are not conducive to the implantation of fertilized eggs and embryos. This leads to infertility.

2. Too much work pressure, irregular daily life, and long-term anxiety, depression, or fear and restlessness. The uterus and ovaries no longer secrete female hormones and no ovulate, resulting in ovulation disorders, menstrual disorders, etc., and naturally it is not easy to get pregnant.

3. Sexual intercourse during menstruation leads to immune infertility.

During menstruation, the cervix becomes more and more relaxed, and its protective ability decreases. If you have sex, it is easy for bacteria and blood to enter the pelvis, causing infection. If the backflow of menstruation is retained in the pelvis, it may cause endometriosis.

4. Excessive weight loss will cause the ovulation period to terminate.

Obesity is also not conducive to pregnancy. Obesity in women can cause amenorrhea and anovulation, while obesity in men can affect the quality of sperm. Effective body fat intake is particularly important for maintaining fertility function. Blindly following the trend to lose weight will cause nutritional imbalance, and serious lack of nutrients will also affect reproductive function.

5. Late pregnancy may also cause infertility.

The number of eggs a woman carries in her lifetime is limited. When she is over 35 years old, these cost-effective eggs have long been used up, the pregnancy rate will decrease, the miscarriage rate will increase, and the deformity rate will also increase. Therefore, if you want to have children, you must have them as early as possible, preferably before the age of 35.

6. Drinking too much freshly ground coffee

Women who drink a lot of coffee may also have trouble getting pregnant. A cup of coffee contains about 115 mg of caffeine. If women consume more than 250 mg of caffeine per day, it will cause reduced fertility; if the daily intake exceeds 500 mg, it will increase the incidence of habitual miscarriage.

7. Smoking and drinking

Alcohol and tobacco have a great impact on fertility for both parties, so couples are reminded to quit smoking and drinking during the pregnancy preparation period.
