How to read the fetal monitoring report

Fetal monitoring is a very important thing during pregnancy preparation. It is one of the ways for pregnant women to control their fetuses. Pregnant women have a lot of things to do during pregnancy, and they also need to go to the hospital regularly for prenatal check-ups. As we all know, for the health of the fetus, pregnant women will undergo many examinations throughout their pregnancy. Next, let’s take a look at how to judge the fetal monitoring examination report? Only when the baby grows up steadily in the womb can the pressure on pregnant women be reduced.

The first step is to look at the fetal heart rate baseline

The fetal heart rate refers to the average fetal heart rate when the baby is relatively quiet, and the normal range is 110-160bpm; we can look at this graph, the baseline of the fetal heartbeat refers to the average fetal heart rate over a period of time in a quiet state, in other words, the fetal heartbeat may be higher than 160, it may be 170, 180, but the key is that the fetal heartbeat can drop back down when the baby is quiet. For example: our normal heart rate is 60-90 times. When we jog in physical education class, our heart rate will increase with the exercise and can reach more than 100. After running, if your heart rate can quickly return to normal levels, it means that your heart function is very good. The same is true for your baby's heart rate.

The second step is to look at specificity

The so-called specificity is the jagged waves on the monitoring chart, which teaches everyone a motto "to be healthy, there must be waves". The wavy waves look volatile, which means the baby is healthy.

The third step is to see whether the fetal heartbeat speeds up or slows down.

A healthy baby will have normal fetal movements, and the fetal movements will increase with the heart rate, that is, the curve will increase and even exceed 160bpm. Then, on the basis of the baseline, the fetal heartbeat speeds up by 15 beats/minute and lasts for more than 15 seconds, which is called an acceleration, indicating that the baby is very healthy. The picture is more vivid. If the heart rate slows down under external stimulation, it means that there may be some problems with the baby. We call the fetal heart rate slowdown under this kind of stimulation fetal heart rate deceleration. If we find that the fetal heart rate is decelerating, we must pay attention and notify the doctor. However, since the fetal heart rate deceleration pattern is very complicated, I will not explain it here, otherwise it will cause more confusion for pregnant mothers.

Frequently asked questions about fetal heart rate monitoring

1. Before doing fetal heart monitoring, you can eat something first, which can stimulate the baby to move more.

2. If the baby does not move during the monitoring process, it may be that the baby is asleep. You can drink a few drops of water or fruit juice to make the baby move. You can also gently rub the belly and touch the baby to wake him up.

3. Choose the time of the day when the baby's fetal movements are most frequent to carry out fetal heart rate monitoring to avoid unnecessary repetitions. This is because you are afraid that the baby may sleep at some times and the monitoring may be unstable. Usually, the mother can feel the baby's fetal movements and can calculate the time. It is best to clear the bladder before doing this, because you may have to stay next to the fetal heart monitor for 40 minutes.

4. When monitoring the fetal heart rate, it is best to lie flat on your left side, and you can also use a backrest to cushion your back, so you don't have to worry about the baby not cooperating.

5. Some mothers should maintain a stable sleep quality every day, have an optimistic attitude and a relaxed mood, and avoid ups and downs and mood fluctuations.

6. Eat healthy and light food, drink less strong tea and coffee, eat less spicy curry sauce and other irritating ingredients. This must be noted that if you are not careful, it may cause miscarriage.
