Is the endometrial thickness of 14mm serious?

Is the endometrial thickness of 14mm serious?

The uterine wall changes, becoming thicker or thinner at different stages of the menstrual cycle. If the uterine wall is too thick, it will affect pregnancy. How thick is the uterine wall? Is it serious if the endometrium is 14mm thick?

The normal range is 0.2-1.0 cm. The thickness of the endometrium is different at different stages of the menstrual cycle: 1. Menstrual period: the functional layer of the uterine wall falls off and the dermis is preserved. 2. Proliferative period: the endometrium thickness reaches 1-3mm during the 6th-14th day of the menstrual period. 3. Metabolic period: during the 15th-28th day of the menstrual period, the endometrium thickness reaches 5-7mm.

The normal thickness of the uterine wall can reach 8-1b250mm when menstruation comes. At this time, the level of estrogen and estrogen decreases, which activates the production of prostaglandins in the endometrium. Prostaglandins can stimulate the contraction of the uterine muscle layer, causing the spiral arteries in the functional layer of the endometrium to continue to contract and reduce endometrial blood flow. The total area of ischemic necrotic tissue gradually expands. Tissue degeneration and necrosis, increased permeability of blood vessel walls, rupture of blood vessels, resulting in the formation of abscesses at the bottom of the endometrium, and promoting tissue necrosis and exfoliation. The degenerated and necrotic endometrium mixes with the blood and is discharged to produce menstrual blood.

If the uterine wall reaches 14mm, it is relatively thick and this situation will affect the menstrual period. It is very easy to have severe menstrual pain during menstruation, and it is not easy for the sperm and egg to combine and implant the embryo. Its thickness changes according to the regular metabolic changes of ovarian hormones in the uterus and ovaries throughout the menstrual cycle.
