Sperm and eggs are the key elements of human reproduction. Men are the promoters of sperm and can vividly see the appearance of sperm. But what do women’s eggs look like? How much does the range of egg sizes cost? Oocytes are produced in the female reproductive organs, the ovaries. When a woman is born, there are 100,000 to 500,000 primary ova in each ovary. They are surrounded by a layer of primary ova cells, also called granulosa cells, and a layer of basement membrane. These primordial eggs grow in batches all the time during a woman's life, but more than 99% of them will gradually wither and decay into locked eggs soon after they begin to grow. During the growth period, only a few hundred eggs will fully grow and mature and be released into mature oocytes. Structurally, the egg cell discharged from the mature follicle is about 20mm in size and is surrounded by many granulosa cells. These granulosa cells are arranged radially on the outermost layer of the egg, so they are also called the radiating corona. Towards the inside are the zona pellucida, the extravitelline cavity, and the vitelline membrane. Generally speaking, the egg will be discharged immediately when its diameter reaches about 2.250m. Normally, before ovulation, you cannot see the egg cells because they are very small at that time. Only when it grows into an egg can it be seen under a microscope. At that time, it is already quite large. The 10th to 14th day before menstruation is called the ovulation period. A perfect egg cell is generally over 2x250mm, and the smallest one is over 18mm to be normal. From primary egg development to mature follicles, it can be divided into 8 levels. The first five levels are very small and take a long time to develop, so they don’t have much practical significance. It is from the 6th level that we should focus on. The diameter of the 6th level egg is 5mm; after 5 days, it grows to 1b250m and becomes the 7th level egg; after another 5 days of growth and development, it becomes the 8th level egg with a diameter of 16mm. Level 8 eggs are mature follicles. Therefore, it takes a total of 10 days from the growth of a level 6 egg to a level 8 egg, which happens to be the follicular phase of a physiological cycle. Starting from 16mm, after another 2-3 days, it will grow into an egg of 2b250m and be released. |
