Why do finger joints hurt during confinement?

Why do finger joints hurt during confinement?

The confinement period is the most important time for women. All aspects of the confinement period must be done well, otherwise there will be many problems. For example, if we do not take good care of the uterus, it will cause diseases in the future. If you don't stay at home and always use the hair dryer, it is easy to cause rheumatism and other problems. So what is the reason for finger joint pain during confinement?

Finger joint pain after childbirth is a type of joint pain after childbirth. The main cause of the disease is that the endocrine system of the mother's body has changed, which causes the strength and elasticity of the hand muscles and tendons to decrease to varying degrees, and the supporting force of the articular cartilage and tendons around the joints is weakened, which leads to relaxation of the joints and weakening of their function. It is the fundamental cause of joint pain in hands and feet for new mothers.

(1) Nerve compression. During pregnancy, the amount of water in the body's circulation generally increases. As a result, the tendons in the wrists and other places swell and compress the median nerve, the nerve channel that controls the fingers, causing numbness and pain, which leads to carpal tunnel syndrome.

(2) Insufficient vitamin B2 and B12. Lack of this vitamin can cause blockage of nerve endings and lead to numbness and pain in the joints.

(3) If a mother gives birth too early, does too much housework, holds the baby for too long, or is exposed to cold water, it will put stress on the joints, tendons and ligaments, causing pain in the wrists and finger joints, and the most common "maternal wrist", which is also called "wrist stenosing bursitis" in clinical medicine. The symptoms are: swelling and pain at the base of the pregnant woman's thumb makes it difficult to move the thumb or wrist; grasping, gripping, twisting, pinching, etc. will cause or aggravate wrist pain, and in severe cases it will affect sleep; the pain is sometimes like neuralgia, and will spread up to the arm and down to the end of the thumb.

(4) During the confinement period, due to reduced activity and even seldom getting out of bed to walk, the fat pad in the heel will undergo disuse and decline and become increasingly scarce. Its function of supporting weight and regulating vibration during exercise will be greatly weakened, and the fat pad will be lost.

(5) According to traditional Chinese medicine, joint pain after childbirth is related to deficiency of blood and nutrients, blood stasis, or retention of cold and dampness. Deficiency of both Qi and blood will lead to weakness of the limbs, tendons, and bones. Blood stasis will obstruct the circulation of qi and blood. Cold and dampness will invade the body and stay in the skin, meridians, and joints, blocking the circulation of qi and blood. All of these can cause joint pain after childbirth.

Therefore, the reason why mothers suffer from postpartum finger joint pain is also closely related to the above 5 points. During the confinement period, the mother should rest well, reduce labor and contact with cold water, so as to avoid finger joint pain after childbirth.

We all know the reasons for postpartum pain in finger joints. The joints either hurt here or there. Maybe we didn't handle a certain area well, which led to such a result. During the confinement period, there are things you cannot do wrong, so no matter how much you like it, there are still certain taboos.
