There are small insects on pubic hair

Some friends don’t care about their hygiene or living habits at all, so much so that they see small insects on their pubic hair. The small bugs on the pubic hair are actually pubic lice. There are three main reasons for the appearance of pubic lice. One is transmission through sexual contact, the second is transmission through direct contact, and the last is transmission through indirect contact.

These bugs are pubic lice. Generally speaking, there are three ways of transmission of pubic lice, namely sexual contact, direct contact and indirect contact. Pubic lice, which is transmitted through sexual contact, is the most common, accounting for more than 95%.

(1) Sexual contact and transmission: Sexual behavior often gives pubic lice the opportunity to find new hosts and infect new hosts, so pubic lice are often prevalent among promiscuous people. Couples often suffer from pubic lice together.

(2) Direct contact transmission refers to other direct contact transmissions other than sexual contact. It can be transmitted indirectly through underwear, mattresses or toilet seats. Due to limited living conditions, crowded housing and poor sanitary conditions, sleeping in the same bed and close contact with patients with pubic lice can also transmit the disease.

(3) Indirect contact transmission: Pubic lice and lice eggs often contaminate underwear, towels, bed sheets, toilets, etc. as pubic hair falls off. Other people may be infected when they come into contact with these items contaminated by pubic lice. Pubic lice often occur in people who live in poor hygiene and crowded environments. In recent years, it has been discovered that some people have been infected with pubic lice by wearing shorts while riding horses. But generally speaking, the hosts of pubic lice are humans, not animals. Pubic lice mainly parasitize on the pubic hair in the pubic area, perineal hair, and perianal hair, but they can also parasitize on the armpit hair, eyelashes, eyebrows, etc.

Young men and women, especially those with a history of promiscuous sex, who have genital itching, especially the itching that worsens at night, should carefully observe the presence of pubic lice. Pubic lice often parasitize on hair shafts. Light brown pubic lice can be found at the roots of hair. Pubic lice sometimes hide in a small scab and are movable. Small white particles can be seen hanging on the hair shafts. These are lice eggs. When the above characteristics are found, it proves that pubic lice have been infected.

There is no need to be afraid if you have pubic lice. These insects are currently easy to treat. Experts recommend the use of 0.01% permethrin solution. This is a highly effective, low-toxic insecticide. Apply it externally once to moisten all the pubic hair, and wash it off after 3 days. This medicine also has a killing effect on pubic lice eggs and is harmless to the human body. However, it is mildly irritating to the eyes and care should be taken to prevent accidental ingestion or entry into the eyes and mucous membranes.
