40 weeks of bleeding

40 weeks of bleeding

When seeing spotting during the 40th week of pregnancy, many mothers will feel panicked and they don’t know what to do to be better for the fetus. In fact, you should stay calm at this time. Generally, seeing spotting means that the time of delivery is approaching. You should go to the hospital in time to wait for delivery. You can give birth only when your cervix is dilated enough for normal delivery. You must maintain your physical strength during this period.

Before delivery, irregular uterine contractions pull on the cervix, causing the fetal membrane near the internal os of the cervix to separate from the uterine wall, resulting in capillary rupture and the fall of the cervical mucus plug, causing blood and cervical mucus to mix and flow out of the vagina. This phenomenon is called "red spotting during pregnancy." "Bleeding during pregnancy" is a reliable sign that labor is about to begin, so when the due date arrives and the pregnant woman has irregular uterine contractions, she should check her shorts for bloody discharge.

Seeing blood is a precursor to childbirth. If seeing blood is accompanied by regular uterine contractions, then the mother is not far away from becoming pregnant. Generally, labor should occur within 12 to 48 hours. Pregnant women should go to the hospital for observation in time. However, if there is no obvious uterine contraction at the same time as seeing blood, it is not a sign of impending labor. If the blood that flows out is bright red and exceeds the menstrual volume, it is abnormal and should be distinguished from diseases such as placental abruption and placenta previa.

Because of the contraction of the uterus, the baby's head begins to fall into the pelvis, and the fetal membrane and uterine wall gradually separate and the friction will cause blood vessels to rupture and bleed, which is commonly known as spotting. It is usually a pink or brown viscous liquid, or blood in the secretions.

Generally, spotting occurs 24 hours before labor pains, but it may also occur repeatedly a few days before delivery or even a week before delivery. If there is only a light streak of blood and the amount is not large, the pregnant mother can stay at home to observe and pay attention not to overwork and avoid strenuous exercise. If you experience fresh bleeding, the amount of bleeding exceeds that during your menstrual period, or you experience abdominal pain, you should be hospitalized immediately. You can go to the hospital on your own, there is no need to call an ambulance.

Vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy is complicated to diagnose and may be normal or abnormal. In the very beginning of pregnancy, as the fertilized egg implants in the uterus, there may be slight bleeding for one or two days, which is implantation bleeding. The implantation of the placenta on the uterine wall may also cause a small amount of bleeding. There is no need to worry, it will not have any effect on the fetus. When it is confirmed that the pregnancy is normal in the uterus, you need to stay in bed and rest. The abnormal fetus will mostly be expelled from the uterus.
