Pelvic effusion refers to the presence of fluid in the female pelvic cavity. It is a relatively common gynecological problem and a symptom that can have a great impact on the health of a woman's reproductive system. There are two causes of pelvic effusion, one is physiological and the other is pathological. The two types of pelvic effusion need to be treated differently. Next, I will introduce you to some relevant knowledge about pelvic effusion! 1. What is pelvic effusion? Fluid retained in the pelvis is called "pelvic effusion". When the endometrium becomes inflamed, the swollen cells secrete a sticky fluid that is easily wrapped by nearby cell tissues to form a cyst. If left untreated, these swollen cysts will grow larger and larger, and if they become too large to be treated with medication, they must be removed surgically. Generally, pelvic effusion can be eradicated. 2. Classification of pelvic effusion According to pathological factors, pelvic effusion can be divided into physiological pelvic effusion and pathological pelvic effusion. Let’s look at the former first. The symptoms of pelvic effusion that occur in women in late ovulation and early pregnancy are normal phenomena and do not require any intervention or treatment and can heal naturally. Let’s look at the latter. If pelvic effusion is caused by pelvic inflammation, it needs to be treated with medication or even surgery. Clinically, there are generally two reasons that cause pelvic inflammation. One is pelvic inflammation or adnexitis or endometriosis, and the other is caused by tuberculosis or tumor. 3. Symptoms of pelvic effusion 1. Feeling of falling, pain in the lower abdomen and waist There is an obvious feeling of falling, pain on one or both sides of the abdomen, and accompanied by soreness in the waist and hips. If you suffer from chronic inflammation, pelvic congestion and scar adhesion may occur, which may often cause discomfort such as lower abdominal distension and pain, back pain, etc. The pain may be particularly severe during exertion, sexual intercourse, or before and after menstruation. 2. Decreased immunity Generally speaking, systemic symptoms are not obvious, and fever, fatigue, etc. may occur. If the illness lasts for a long time, it may lead to neurasthenia, which is generally manifested as lack of energy, insomnia, etc. If the patient's resistance is weakened, it is easy to cause acute or subacute symptoms. 3. Menstrual disorders If the patient has blood stasis in the pelvis, the menstrual flow may increase; if the disease has affected the ovarian function, it may cause menstrual disorders; if the patient has fallopian tube blockage, it may cause infertility. 4. Infertility Infertility is one of the most common symptoms of pelvic effusion, because pelvic effusion can easily cause blockage of the patient's fallopian tubes. Clinical manifestations include uterine retroversion, restricted uterine activity, or fallopian tube adhesions. |
