Lochia continues to flow and uterus ultrasound is normal

Lochia continues to flow and uterus ultrasound is normal

After giving birth, whether a woman chooses a natural birth or a cesarean section, a certain amount of blood will be discharged from the vagina, which is the so-called postpartum lochia. Generally speaking, postpartum lochia will last for about two months, but the physical constitution of each pregnant woman is different, so it is not certain. Some pregnant women have relatively normal B-ultrasound results, but they still have persistent lochia. Then why is the lochia not clear if the B-ultrasound is normal?

The B-ultrasound is normal, why is the lochia not clean?

1. The patient has a weak constitution and insufficient Qi. Excessive blood loss during childbirth consumes Qi, making the Qi even weaker. Or it may be because of working too early after giving birth, which damages the spleen and causes qi deficiency, resulting in the Chong and Ren meridians being malnourished and unable to absorb blood, leading to continuous lochia after delivery. .

2. Blood heat usually causes kidney yin deficiency. Due to excessive blood loss during childbirth, yin fluid is further deficient, and nutrient yin is depleted, which leads to internal fire caused by yin deficiency. It may be due to excessive intake of spicy, hot, warm and dry foods after giving birth, or the experience of heat evil, or liver qi stagnation damaging body fluid, which may cause heat to disturb the Chong and Ren meridians, forcing blood to flow downward, resulting in postpartum lochia that does not stop.

3. Blood stasis causes tightness in the uterus after childbirth, and dampness takes advantage of the opportunity to enter the uterus and fight with the blood, causing blood stasis and internal resistance, or residual placenta, which affects the Chong and Ren meridians, and the blood cannot return to the menstruation, resulting in postpartum lochia, which will not be clean for a long time.

What should I do if the B-ultrasound is normal but there is postpartum lochia?

1. Pregnant women should actively treat various pregnancy diseases before giving birth, such as pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, anemia, vaginitis, etc.

2. For patients with placental abruption and elderly people during delivery, give antibiotics to prevent infection.

3. After giving birth, pregnant women should carefully check whether the embryo and placenta are complete. If there are any residues, they should be properly handled. Check the embryo and placenta. Lay the embryo flat with the pregnant mother facing upwards. Pay attention to whether the leaves are aligned and whether there is any damage.

4. Persistent breastfeeding is beneficial to uterine contraction and the discharge of postpartum lochia.

5. Observe the color, amount and smell of postpartum lochia every day after delivery. Normal postpartum lochia should have no peculiar smell but contain a fishy smell. If a peculiar smell is found, it may be that there are fetal remains in the uterus and should be treated immediately.

6. Measure the degree of uterine contraction regularly and accurately. If you find that the contraction is poor, you should see a doctor and take new uterine contraction drugs.

It is very common for women to have lochia after giving birth, but it is something that pregnant women must pay attention to. If you have persistent lochia for a long time, you must go to the hospital for a follow-up visit to see if there are any other symptoms, eliminate the existence of the disease, and better protect your health.
