How to determine if one breast is empty

How to determine if one breast is empty

New mothers do not have many skills in breastfeeding, which will cause various problems. Sometimes they are used to feeding their baby with only one breast, which is very incorrect. It may cause one breast to be sucked empty, or other gynecological diseases. It is better to choose to feed the baby alternately, which is better for the body.

Milk accumulation (milk stasis) often occurs in mothers with excessive milk and improper breastfeeding methods. Generally speaking, mothers tend to let their babies suck one breast first and then let them suck the other breast. Since most primiparas have a lot of breast milk and their babies are small, the baby is basically full after one breast is sucked empty, and sucking the other breast will not drain all the milk.

There is a lot of milk left in the breast, and it cannot be sucked out in time. When breastfeeding for the second time, she did not switch to the breast that did not completely suck out the milk from the previous time. If this is repeated several times, the milk in the breast that has not been completely sucked out will accumulate more and more, resulting in milk accumulation in the breast that has not been completely sucked out. In addition, nipple hypoplasia, nipples that are too small, and inverted nipples will hinder the baby from sucking milk, resulting in the inability to completely empty the milk and causing milk accumulation.

Galactus usually occurs in primiparas within one month after delivery. The main symptoms are poor milk discharge accompanied by breast pain, multiple lumps in both breasts, and some patients have varying degrees of fever. The local skin temperature of the breast is usually normal, and the axillary lymph nodes are generally not enlarged [1]. If the milk cannot be discharged in time during this period, it may develop into acute mastitis and finally turn into breast abscess.

Breastfeeding is the process of feeding a baby with the mother's milk. In the past, due to urbanization in Western countries, mothers returned to work soon after giving birth, resulting in babies lacking breast milk. Studies have shown that babies who are breastfed develop healthier. As a result, women in Western countries have begun to return to breastfeeding in the past decade.

1. Disinfection of milk utensils. Bottles, nipples, soup spoons, pots, etc. used by babies must be sterilized every time and placed in a fixed container, preferably a steel pot with a lid, to ensure the quality of cleaning and sterilization.

2. Milk preparation time. Milk is a good bacterial culture medium. To prevent it from spoiling, it should be mixed according to the season. On hot days, try to eat the boiled milk in several times in the morning, and feed it after boiling each time when necessary. The milk for the evening should be boiled and kept in the refrigerator, or the milk powder can be prepared at any time according to the feeding time in the afternoon. Motivation: Daily milk can be prepared twice a day, morning and afternoon, boiled and poured into a sterilized bottle, and warmed with hot water when feeding.

If you use milk powder, you can reduce the amount of water (one third) and make the milk into a paste. When eating, add boiling water or hot rice soup to the required amount of water. This way the temperature is suitable and there is no need to keep it warm in water, but the container must be strictly disinfected. If the milk in the bottle is not finished, it should be poured into a milk pot and boiled for next use. It still needs to be boiled before consumption.
