Cervical erosion is a relatively common female health problem and also a gynecological disease that will have a certain impact on the health of women's reproductive system. In order to avoid greater problems with women's health, cervical erosion should be treated in a timely manner when it is discovered in the early stages. Below, we will introduce the symptoms, causes and treatments of cervical erosion in detail! 1. Symptoms and Signs Cervical columnar epithelium ectopia is a normal physiological phenomenon and has no special clinical manifestations. Some people may experience contact bleeding, but this is just an individual difference in the cervix, just like some people will bleed from their teeth or mouth when they chew something hard. Cervical erosion is the most common local feature in the course of chronic metritis. Due to the infiltration of inflammatory secretions, the squamous epithelium of the cervix falls off and is replaced by the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal, which manifests as cervical erosion. Clinically, cervical erosion is divided into grades I, II and III according to the size of the cervical erosion area. The main symptoms are: Increased leucorrhea: Increased leucorrhea is the main symptom of this disease, sometimes it is bloody or mixed with blood. Vulvar itching and pain: The vulva and vagina may be irritated by increased leucorrhea, which may lead to vulvitis or vaginitis and cause vulvar itching and pain. Pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region: When the inflammation is severe, it may cause pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral region along the uterosacral ligament, accompanied by a feeling of falling. Frequent urination or difficulty urinating: When the inflammation spreads to the bladder trigone or around the bladder, frequent urination or difficulty urinating may occur. Infertility: Thick leucorrhea is not conducive to sperm penetration, so severe cervicitis can cause infertility. 2. Causes Cervical columnar epithelium ectopia is caused by sexual intercourse, miscarriage, childbirth, infection and surgical operation, which leads to the proliferation of cervical columnar epithelium and the outward migration of covering the wound surface to replace the squamous epithelium. It is one of the local characteristics of chronic cervicitis and can induce cervical cancer and cause infertility. Therefore, it is very important to explore effective treatment methods. Treatment Cervical columnar epithelium ectopia does not require any treatment, and many current methods of treating cervical erosion are wrong. But for symptomatic cervicitis, treatment is needed. Acute inflammation is treated with suppositories, while chronic inflammation can be treated with physical therapy such as laser or freezing. |
