Left breast cyst

Left breast cyst

Women who have experienced breastfeeding are at a much higher risk of developing breast-related diseases, because if breastfeeding is not done correctly during breastfeeding, milk can easily accumulate, leading to a series of breast-related diseases. Breast cysts are caused by the accumulation of milk in the breast. However, some women find that they only have breast cysts on the left breast. So what causes breast cysts on the left breast?

For some women, due to bad breastfeeding habits, milk stagnates in the left mammary duct. The duct will gradually expand and form a cyst due to the increase in milk, thereby reducing local resistance and allowing foreign bacteria to invade, causing secondary infection and leading to acute mastitis or breast abscess. But it should be noted that breast cysts are not simply caused by milk stasis. Clinically, it has been found that there are many causes of breast cysts. A common factor is that the lactating woman has had breast hyperplasia, inflammation, etc., or the local tissue has been compressed by a tumor, which can cause blockage of the duct of a lobe or lobule of the breast, causing milk to accumulate in the duct and form a breast cyst.

If there is no bacterial invasion and infection after a breast cyst occurs, the cyst can exist in the breast for a long time. Especially for women who are breastfeeding, breast swelling is not easy to be found even if there is a lump. Most patients can only feel it clearly after weaning. The shape of the cyst is generally round or oval, with a relatively smooth surface that can be pushed. Some patients may also have slight tenderness in the cyst. In the early stage, the cyst contains thin milk. Later, due to the long-term presence of the cyst, the water in the milk is absorbed and the milk is concentrated into a milky white viscous substance, such as condensed milk. Occasionally it may be curd or even solid like powdered milk.

Generally speaking, patients with left-sided breast cysts can be diagnosed through B-ultrasound examination, but after the disease is discovered, they should also pay attention to distinguishing it from breast cysts, breast fibroids, breast cancer and other diseases. Generally, cysts will not disappear on their own, so once discovered, cyst removal surgery should be considered and then sent for pathological examination.
