Congenital primordial uterus

Congenital primordial uterus

The uterus is a very important organ for women and an important organ related to fertility. After the sperm and egg combine to form a fertilized egg, it will grow and develop in the uterus. After ten months of pregnancy, a fetus can be formed and delivered. Some women's uterus will have some adverse symptoms, such as congenital primordial uterus, which is a type of uterine developmental abnormality. People need to pay attention to this situation. Here we will introduce what to do if you have congenital primordial uterus.

The primordial uterus, also known as the vestigial uterus, is a developmental abnormality. Since the primordial uterus has no uterine cavity and endometrium, menstruation will naturally not come. It can be seen that the primordial uterus also cannot have other functions of the female body. Therefore, in this case, early treatment is needed. Many people may not know much about the primordial uterus. Let me share with you the treatment of congenital primordial uterus.

During fetal development, the female reproductive organs are formed by the fusion of the two mesonephric ducts. The primordial uterus stops developing shortly after the fusion of the two mesonephric ducts, and is often accompanied by the absence of a vagina. This type of uterus is extremely small, 1 to 3 cm long, about the size of a little finger. Most of them have no uterine cavity, no endometrium, no menstruation, and most of them are accompanied by no vagina. B-ultrasound can clearly show the image of the primordial uterus: the uterus is very small and cord-shaped.

The uterus is a hollow organ lined with a mucous membrane called the endometrium. The endometrium has important functions: from puberty to menopause, the endometrium is affected by ovarian hormones, undergoes periodic changes and produces menstruation; during sexual intercourse, the uterus serves as a passage for sperm to reach the fallopian tubes; after conception, the uterus is the place where the blastocyst implants, develops and grows; during childbirth, the uterus contracts to deliver the fetus and its appendages.

Menstruation is a sign of the maturation of female organs. Young women have menstruation every month. Generally, every 28 days or so, a group of primordial follicles develop and mature into eggs. When only one egg comes out of the ovary, it is called "ovulation".

Normally, once the egg leaves the ovary, it first travels into the fallopian tube and then slowly moves to the uterus. As the egg matures, the ovaries produce estrogen, which in turn stimulates the endometrium to become thicker.

Uterine cavity shaping and endometrial transplantation: Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy are used together to create the uterine cavity from the cervical opening. After the operation, a special support with a biological anti-adhesive membrane is placed in it for 1 month. The support is gradually enlarged until the uterine cavity can accommodate 5 ml of liquid, and then endometrial transplantation is performed. There is no scar on the abdomen and menstruation and pregnancy can be normal after the operation.

If a girl has not had her first period during puberty, or her menstruation is irregular, she should consider the possibility of uterine abnormalities and go to the hospital for further examination and diagnosis. Early detection can lead to early diagnosis of uterine diseases.
