My period is 6 days late.

Irregular menstruation is a problem that many women will encounter. Especially when life is stressful and the body is tired, menstruation will be delayed. If your period is delayed for 6 days, it is caused by irregular menstruation. Generally speaking, irregular menstruation needs to be regulated to avoid long-term infertility.

Menstrual irregularity is a common gynecological disease, which manifests as abnormal menstrual cycle or bleeding volume, or abdominal pain and systemic symptoms before and during menstruation. The cause may be organic disease or functional disorder.

1. Caused by neuroendocrine dysfunction: mainly the unstable or defective function of the lower hindbrain--stomach-ovary axis, that is, menstrual disease.

2. Caused by organic diseases or drugs, including local inflammation, tumors and developmental abnormalities of the reproductive organs, malnutrition; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions such as thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes, Sheehan's disease, etc.; liver diseases; blood diseases, etc. Menstrual irregularities may occur in women who use drugs to treat mental illnesses, endocrine preparations, or intrauterine devices for contraception. Certain occupations, such as long-distance runners, are prone to amenorrhea. In addition, some abnormal bleeding during pregnancy is often mistaken for menstrual irregularities.

In clinical diagnosis of neuroendocrine dysfunctional menstrual disorders, the above-mentioned organic causes must be excluded.

External factors

Reason 1: Pressure

The daily work pace keeps 25-year-old Li Na busy. Once, Li Na was surprised to find that her "good friend" who had just been away for more than ten days came again. Why twice in one month? If I think about it carefully, my menstruation has not been very "regular" for a long time. Sometimes it comes early, sometimes it comes late, and the amount is more than before.

After ruling out the possibility of organic disease, the doctor asked about Li Na's life and told her with certainty that it was her long-term excessive stress that led to mental tension, which caused endocrine disorders and changed the menstrual pattern.

If women of childbearing age are under long-term stress, the function of the pituitary gland will be suppressed, causing the ovaries to no longer secrete female hormones and ovulate, and menstruation will begin to become disordered. Similarly, long-term depression, sulking or bad mood can also affect menstruation.

Normal Standard

1. Cycle: It is a simple indicator to judge whether a woman's menstruation is normal. The menstrual cycle of each woman is different, ranging from 21 to 35 days, and some people have their period every 40 days. But as long as there is regularity, it is normal.

2. Menstrual blood volume: The amount of menstrual blood varies from woman to woman, but 20-85 ml is generally considered normal. The normal amount is to change it four or five times a day, with no more than two packs in each cycle. If using three packs of sanitary napkins each time is not enough and each sanitary napkin is soaked, it means that your menstrual flow is too heavy.

3. Menstrual period: Women’s menstrual period is about 3-7 days. The heaviest bleeding is concentrated in the first 3 days, and then gradually decreases until the menstrual blood stops. For some people, menstrual blood comes back a little after a day or two after the menstrual blood stops, which is commonly known as "menstrual blood comes back". This is also a normal phenomenon. However, some people's menstrual period lasts for 10-20 days, and the menstrual period is endless; some people's menstrual period is very short and it just passes in a flash. Both phenomena are abnormal.

4. Menstrual blood color: It is an important one among the four indicators to determine whether a woman's menstruation is normal. Normal menstrual blood is dark red, viscous and without blood clots. It is abnormal if your menstrual blood is thin and watery, pink, black or purple, or if it is entirely clotted blood.
