Is it normal to have sensitive nipples?

It is said that a man's penis will become erect when stimulated, and this mainly refers to the congestion of the corpus cavernosum in the penis. In fact, for women, they also have erections, not only the clitoris, but also the nipples. In daily life, it seems that some women's nipples are very sensitive and become abnormally hard with a slight touch. Is it normal to have sensitive nipples?

Nipple sensitivity is mostly caused by breast development, which is caused by hormones in the body.

Inverted Nipple:

1. Introduction:

Inverted nipple is a common female breast deformity, with an incidence rate of 1% to 2%. The degree of nipple inversion varies from person to person. In mild cases, the nipple may only be flat or retracted to varying degrees, and may bulge or be squeezed out after stimulation. In severe cases, the nipple is completely sunken into the areola and cannot be pulled out, forming a crater shape, and is often accompanied by secretions or odor.

(II) Causes:

The causes of inverted nipple are divided into congenital and acquired, and most of them are congenital. The nipple contains the openings of 15 to 20 mammary ducts, which are surrounded by smooth muscle extending from the areola. The main cause of congenital inverted nipple is the disorder of mesoderm proliferation during the embryonic development of the nipple, which manifests as poor development of the smooth muscle and mammary ducts of the nipple and areola, resulting in the failure of the mammary ducts to ductalize, forming shortened cords, and the shortening of the smooth muscle and fibrous connective tissue around them, leading to a lack of supporting tissue under the nipple. In addition, the mammary ducts are pulled inward, causing the nipple to be unclear in protrusion or inverted. Acquired inverted nipple is caused by the nipple being pulled by pathological tissue in the breast. The most common cause is breast cancer, followed by infection, trauma and scar traction after breast surgery. It is occasionally seen in sagging giant breasts.

(III) Clinical classification:

There are many ways to classify inverted nipples. The most commonly used classification method in domestic and foreign textbooks is to divide them into three types based on the depth of nipple inversion. Type I (mild): The nipple is partially inverted, but the nipple neck exists and can be easily squeezed out. After squeezing out, the nipple size is similar to that of a normal person. Type II (moderate): The nipple is completely sunken in the areola, but can be squeezed out by hand. The nipple is smaller than normal and usually has no nipple neck. Type III (severe): The nipple is completely buried under the areola, and the inverted nipple cannot be squeezed out.
