No decidua seen after medical abortion

The working principle of medical abortion is to use drugs to act on the embryo in the uterus, causing the embryo's membrane to fall off from the uterus and then be expelled from the body, achieving the purpose of abortion. Therefore, after medical abortion, you must pay attention to whether there is a thin film in the substances you discharge. Only after the embryonic membrane flows out, does it mean that the abortion is successful. If it is observed that there is no mucous membrane in the discharge from a woman, it may mean that the medical abortion has failed.

1. If the gestational sac is not expelled after taking mifepristone and misoprostol, it may be a failure of medical abortion. It is also possible that the gestational sac has been expelled but not observed. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for a follow-up ultrasound to confirm whether there is a gestational sac in the uterine cavity. If there are residues in the uterine cavity or the gestational sac has not been expelled, it is best to have a uterine curettage. At the same time, pay attention to hemostasis and anti-infection treatment.

2. Cervical erosion refers to the displacement of the cervical columnar epithelium, not true erosion. When the epidermis of the external cervical os falls off and is replaced by another epithelial tissue of the cervical os, because the covering surface is thin, you can even see the blood vessels and red tissue underneath, which looks like erosion. This is one of the physiological changes of the cervix, not a pathological change.

1. Medical abortion must be used within 49 days of pregnancy. In addition, the fetal position should be normal and there are no other diseases. The coagulation mechanism should also be checked. If it is not good, it cannot be used. Pay attention to the same abortion as normal ones after the operation. However, the postoperative bleeding time is relatively long, generally about 7-10 days.

Medical abortion: within the forty-nine days of pregnancy, it takes at least three days to complete the process. Even the smallest side effect can easily cause menstrual disorders, which are manifested as shortened or prolonged menstrual cycles and increased menstrual flow. A small number of people may have incomplete abortion and still need surgical curettage, which is not only prone to infection or heavy bleeding, but may also lead to infertility, causing lifelong regrets.

2. The bleeding time after abortion generally does not exceed 3 weeks, the amount of bleeding does not exceed the normal menstrual volume, and the abdominal pain does not exceed 2 days. If the above standards are exceeded, it is common in: intrauterine infection, intrauterine residue, incomplete uterine involution, etc. It is necessary to go to the hospital's gynecology department for further examination, and make a clear diagnosis and symptomatic treatment based on the examination results. If necessary, a uterine curettage is also required.
