What is the role of gynecological enema

In today's highly developed material age, the concept of health preservation has been deeply rooted in people's minds, especially many elderly people pay more attention to health preservation. There are many ways to maintain health, and enema is actually one of them. When the human body has intestinal stool accumulation, the intestines are infected by intestinal bacteria and cause endometritis. Enema can help our body metabolize stool and promote the metabolism of waste in the body, thereby achieving the effect of health care. So what is the role of gynecological enema?

1. Enema is mainly used for people who have difficulty defecation. Under normal circumstances, enema can indeed clear feces from the intestines and reduce the absorption of toxins, but it is not suitable for everyone.

2. The main side effects of enema include diarrhea, chronic enteritis and enema dependence. It is not suitable for patients with combined anal and intestinal diseases.

3. Health-preserving methods generally do not include enema. It is recommended to maintain health through scientific eating and exercise. After all, enema is invasive and it is best to do it under the guidance of a doctor.

Notes on enema:

Inadvertent enema or bowel perforation

In clinical practice, enema can be used to treat constipation, but it is not a universal or preferred method. Pang Chunmei said that patients with stubborn constipation have an urgent need to defecate, and may even experience abdominal pain and bloating, but are unable to defecate. Enema can be used as a temporary measure to help defecation. However, regular enema is not recommended because the intestines have their own normal defecation function and the intestinal bacteria also maintain the microecological balance. Frequent enema can disrupt the normal state and affect the body's water and electrolyte balance. Abuse of enema can also weaken the normal physiological reflexes of the intestines. Even if there is stool in the intestines, it cannot be expelled, which will aggravate constipation.

Too much water in the intestines can cause heart failure

Colon cleansing, also known as enema in medicine, is to insert a rubber tube into the anus, extend it into the rectum and colon, and pour some liquid into it to cause the intestines to move and contract strongly, producing the urge to defecate through conditioned reflex and excretion. Pang Chunmei introduced that when conducting X-ray barium enema examination, intravenous or pyelography, rectal or pelvic ultrasound and other examinations, it is necessary to do a bowel wash in advance to clear the stool in the intestine to prevent it from interfering with the examination results.

Supporters of colon cleansing therapy claim that enema can treat constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, body odor, acne, obesity, excessive farts, parasitic diseases, etc. Medical enema generally uses only more than 1 liter of liquid, but colon enema therapists will use more than 75 liters of water to be injected and discharged multiple times to thoroughly clean out the "poison" in the large intestine. This can cause a large amount of liquid to be absorbed into the human blood circulation, which may cause heart failure.

2/3 of constipation is functional

One-third of constipation is caused by organic diseases such as intestinal tumors and polyps. If no cause is found through modern medical examinations, it can be classified as functional constipation.

"Many people know that dietary fiber helps with bowel movements, but relying solely on dietary fiber or eating vegetables without meals may not necessarily solve the problem of constipation." Defecation requires the help of gastrointestinal peristaltic waves. One type of constipation is slow transit constipation, in which the patient's intestines themselves peristalsize slowly, and simply increasing the amount of stool will not work. "If stool is compared to a train and the intestine is compared to a tunnel, patients with slow-transmission constipation are like the train that 'goes slowly'."

The outlet obstruction type is constipation caused by high spasm of the anal sphincter, which is like a train reaching the exit of a tunnel, but the exit does not receive the train signal and does not open the door. When the stool reaches the anus, the sphincter does not relax but contracts instead. Some patients have both slow transmission type and outlet obstruction type.

Anorectal manometry is one of the methods to classify chronic constipation.

Laxatives are not intestinal motility drugs

Some patients find out that they have slow-transmission constipation and need to increase gastrointestinal motility, so they go to the pharmacy to buy laxatives and beauty teas. After drinking them, their stomachs start to growl and they feel the urge to defecate. This is a misunderstanding. The principles of intestinal motility drugs used to treat slow-transmission constipation are different. The principle of intestinal motility drugs is to increase gastrointestinal motility, while laxatives increase the volume of stool, stimulate the gastrointestinal tract and increase the defecation reflex. They cannot be used as routine medications for the treatment of constipation. Long-term and irregular use of laxatives can lead to melanosis of the large intestine, and blackening of the intestinal mucosa can be seen under colonoscopy.
