What is the inflammation of pink leucorrhea?

Leucorrhea is a barometer of women's health. Normal leucorrhea is colorless, transparent, and has no odor. If a woman's leucorrhea is pink, it means that there is a problem with her health and she needs to be treated in time. If a woman's leucorrhea is abnormal and not treated in time, it will lead to worsening of the condition. Severe cases will not only affect women's health, but may also affect women's fertility. So what kind of inflammation is pink leucorrhea?

Why is the vaginal discharge pink?

Normal leucorrhea should be milky white or colorless and transparent, with a slightly fishy smell or no smell; its secretion amount and texture are affected by the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body, and vary cyclically with the menstrual cycle, with varying amounts, textures and thicknesses. To evaluate whether leucorrhea is normal, it is necessary to observe and distinguish the amount, color, texture, and smell.

When a woman's leucorrhea secretion changes in quantity, color, properties, odor, etc., and at the same time has symptoms such as low back pain, abdominal pain, and vulvar itching, it indicates that leucorrhea is abnormal. It is likely that there is inflammation of the reproductive organs or urinary system. Abnormal leucorrhea is common in the following situations.

1. Non-inflammatory leucorrhea

(1) Leucorrhea is sticky and profuse, which is seen after taking estrogen drugs.

(2) Women of childbearing age have too little vaginal discharge, which makes it impossible to meet their physiological needs. Women often feel dryness and discomfort in the vulva. This is often caused by ovarian dysfunction and insufficient secretion of sex hormones, and is also a pathological condition.

(3) Mental stimulation increases the secretions of the vulva, vagina and cervix, which become colorless and transparent.

(4) Leucorrhea is milky white and watery, and may occur in patients with pelvic tumors, retroflexed uterus, and chronic systemic diseases (heart failure, diabetes, anemia, tuberculosis, etc.). It is caused by pelvic and uterine congestion and increased vaginal secretions.

Generally speaking, abnormal leucorrhea indicates a gynecological disease. However, the specific gynecological disease still needs detailed examination. Generally, routine examination of leucorrhea can also reveal the cause of abnormal leucorrhea, which are mostly gynecological diseases such as vaginitis, cervicitis, cervical erosion, and pelvic inflammatory disease. It is worth noting that female friends should pay attention to the changes in leucorrhea and never delay treatment or take medicine on their own, which may cause certain harm to themselves.

The increased leucorrhea that needs special attention is pathological secretion leucorrhea, which includes the following types:

1. Purulent leucorrhea. It is yellow or yellow-green in color, sticky or foamy, and has a foul odor. It is mostly caused by vaginal inflammation, among which Trichomonas vaginitis is the most common, and is often accompanied by vulvar itching. It can also be seen in chronic cervicitis, senile vaginitis, endometritis, mesometrial effusion or foreign bodies in the vagina.

2. Cheese-like or tofu-like leucorrhea. Most of them are typical phenomena of candidal vaginitis, often accompanied by severe vulvar itching.

3. Bloody leucorrhea. If there is blood in the leucorrhea, you should be alert to the possibility of malignant tumors such as cervical cancer and endometrial cancer. However, benign lesions such as cervical polyps, cervical erosion, submucosal myoma, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, urethral caruncle, senile vaginitis, etc. can also cause bloody leucorrhea, and a small amount of blood caused by intrauterine contraceptive device.

4. Yellow watery leucorrhea. It often occurs after continuous vaginal bleeding, with a large amount of purulent and foul-smelling leucorrhea flowing out of the vagina. Advanced cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, or submucosal myoma with infection should be considered first. Those with paroxysmal discharge should be aware of the possibility of fallopian tube cancer.

5. Urinary dysfunction accompanied by increased leucorrhea. In typical gonococcal infection, the leucorrhea is like the urethral secretion, with increased amount, yellow purulent, and showing intense inflammatory reaction. The leucorrhea caused by chlamydia in cervicitis is less viscous and has an increase in white serous cervical secretions.
