What do hemorrhoids look like in women?

Regardless of whether you are a man or a woman, or a person of any age, you may develop hemorrhoids. In comparison, the probability of developing hemorrhoids is greatly increased for patients who are often bedridden, people who often suffer from diarrhea or constipation, and women who are pregnant. Women are more likely to develop hemorrhoids than men. So what does it usually look like if a woman suffers from hemorrhoids?

What do hemorrhoids look like in women?

When women have hemorrhoids, they need to improve the condition as soon as possible. Generally, women's hemorrhoids will cause abnormalities, pain, and even bleeding in the anus. If they are discovered and treated early, anal fissures will occur once the condition worsens, and severe patients may even be accompanied by rectal prolapse.

1. When you suffer from hemorrhoids, mucus will flow out, especially when the rectum is irritated by hemorrhoids for a long time, which will lead to increased secretions. Severe patients will also have stool discharge, which can easily contaminate their underwear.

2. Pain is also a problem, especially when suffering from hemorrhoids. You will often feel a swelling in the anus and even have difficulty defecating. Hemorrhoid pain often occurs. In severe cases, edema and inflammation will occur, and the patient will become restless.

3. Patients with hemorrhoids will also have blood in their stools when defecating. Usually there will be bleeding after defecation, and the color is usually bright red. There will even be a small amount of liquid on the stool. Usually when wiping after defecation, the paper towel will be stained red, and sometimes there will be dripping blood.

When women suffer from hemorrhoids, they will have the above symptoms. Generally, they can be discovered by paying more attention to any abnormalities in the body. Once symptoms of hemorrhoids occur, prompt and thorough treatment is required to avoid recurrence of hemorrhoids and the occurrence of difficult-to-cure conditions.

1. The main symptom of internal hemorrhoids is blood in the stool. Larger internal hemorrhoids are accompanied by prolapse. Due to the different duration of the disease, it can be divided into the following stages.

Early stage: Hemorrhoids are small, soft, and bright red in color. They often bleed due to abrasion by stool. The blood may be in the form of a line like an arrow or in small drops. There is no pain and the hemorrhoids do not prolapse. The characteristic feature is bleeding during bowel movements.

Middle stage: Hemorrhoids are larger and soft, with bright red or purple surface. Hemorrhoids may protrude from the anus during bowel movements and retract on their own after bowel movements. Bleeding may be more or less after bowel movements.

Late stage: Hemorrhoids are larger, harder in texture, and slightly grayish white in surface (i.e. fibrous internal hemorrhoids). Hemorrhoids may protrude outside the anus during defecation, or even when walking, coughing, sneezing, or standing. They cannot be retracted on their own and must be pushed back by hand, or by lying flat or applying hot compresses. There will be less blood in the stool or no bleeding.

Complications: Patients in the middle and late stages may experience anal swelling and itching. If hemorrhoids are acutely thrombotic, they may cause swelling, pain, erosion, necrosis, and even suppuration, followed by anal fistula and other symptoms. Long-term bloody stools can cause anemia.

2. External hemorrhoids occur below the dentate line of the anal canal. They are caused by enlargement, varicose veins or repeated inflammation of the external hemorrhoidal venous plexus. Their surface is covered by skin, is not easy to bleed, and have irregular shapes and sizes.

The main symptoms of external hemorrhoids are heaviness, pain, and a foreign body sensation. According to their development process, they can be divided into skin hemorrhoids, venous hemorrhoids and thrombosed external hemorrhoids.
