After giving birth, women will produce milk. Sometimes, women have abundant milk and the baby cannot finish it, so we usually squeeze out the milk. Sometimes, women will have a fever after squeezing the milk. Don't panic if you encounter this situation. We can first perform physical cooling. There are many reasons for fever. It may be breast inflammation. If you have a fever for a long time, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a check-up. 1. Women who have a low fever (i.e. body temperature below 37.7℃) while milking can breastfeed. First, use physical cooling methods to reduce the temperature. Generally, there is no need to take medication. If medication is needed, it should be taken in a regular hospital under the guidance of a doctor. And it should be taken after breastfeeding, avoid breastfeeding when the drug content in breast milk is high. Breastfeeding should not be done within 6 hours after taking the medicine. You can drink more warm water to promote excretion. 2. If you have a high fever (i.e. body temperature exceeds 38°C), you need to go to a regular hospital for medical treatment in time. Breastfeeding can be suspended for 1 to 2 days during the high fever. During the period of cessation of feeding, you should also frequently express breast milk to maintain continued breastfeeding in the future. 3. Physical cooling should be performed if the body temperature is too high. In addition to drug treatment, the simplest, most effective and safe cooling method for patients with high fever is physical cooling with alcohol baths. Or cold compresses, place a wet and cold towel on the forehead, palms, and calves, and cover other parts with clothes. The patient can also take a bath in warm water at room temperature. Another way is to wrap the patient with a wet towel and change it every 15 minutes. Pay attention to replenishing water and salt in time. You can add oral rehydration salts, or boiled water with some salt and sugar. Sugar can promote the absorption of water and salt. 4. If the body has a fever, it indicates that there is an infection in the body, such as respiratory tract infection or acute mastitis. It is recommended to go to a local regular hospital specialist as soon as possible, conduct relevant examinations under the guidance of a doctor to identify the source of infection, and receive timely and standardized diagnosis and treatment to control the infection, so as not to delay the condition. 5. It is very easy to have milk accumulation during lactation, but you must pay attention to it and solve it as soon as possible, otherwise it will easily cause mastitis. Using a hot towel to wrap it is also a good way. Then use your hands gently, or use a wooden comb to gently scrape along the direction of the mammary gland. If it is a mild milk accumulation, this can solve the problem. If the accumulation is more serious, this method may not work, and you should go to the hospital. Infusion is not recommended. You can find a Chinese medicine doctor, take Chinese medicine or Chinese patent medicine, which will not affect the baby's breastfeeding. |
