In the early stages of pregnancy, expectant mothers may encounter various problems. Vulvar itching is a common symptom in early pregnancy. There are many reasons for this situation. The most common cause is that women may suffer from vaginitis. There are many types of vaginitis, and different types have certain differences in treatment and care, not only in the choice of medicine, but also in the care in life. Generally, in the first three months of pregnancy, if there is external itching, you must be cautious when using medication and you must follow the doctor's advice. Vulvar itching in early pregnancy is a clinical symptom caused by various reasons. It is mostly due to the large amount of abnormal leucorrhea discharged from the vulva caused by trichomonas or fungal infection, which irritates the vulva. Failure to pay attention to hygiene during menstruation, or wearing synthetic underwear, often causes the vulva to be in a hot and humid environment, which often causes vulvar itching. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital's gynecology department for a pathogenic examination of vaginal or cervical secretions, and symptomatic treatment after a clear diagnosis. The main clinical features of vaginitis are changes in the nature of leucorrhea and itching and burning pain in the vulva. Dyspareunia is also common. When the infection involves the urethra, there may be symptoms such as urinary pain and urgency. The main causes of vulvar itching in early pregnancy are: (1) Infectious diseases. The most common are trichomonas or fungal infections. In addition, pubic lice, pubic scabies and some sexually transmitted diseases can also cause vulvar itching. (2) Local lesions of the vulva. Vulvar eczema, neurodermatitis, chronic vulvar dystrophy, vulvar tumors, etc. can all cause vulvar itching. (3) Bad hygiene habits. Failure to pay attention to cleaning the vulva may cause vaginal secretions or menstrual blood to accumulate in the vulva, which may cause itching. On the contrary, washing the vulva several times a day, or frequently using strong alkaline soaps, or washing the vulva with potassium permanganate water will make the vulva skin too dry and cause vulva itching. (4) Inappropriate clothing. Often wear some synthetic fiber clothes, etc. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a gynecological examination, check the routine leucorrhea, etc., to determine the cause and receive symptomatic treatment. The key is to pay more attention in daily life. It is best to wear loose cotton underwear, change underwear frequently, and wash the vulva with warm water every day, preferably by showering. Generally speaking, vulvar itching should not be treated during the first 3 months of pregnancy. If the condition develops seriously, medication can be used for treatment as appropriate after 3 months of pregnancy, which will not cause infection to the fetus. It can usually be cured before delivery. In the early stages of pregnancy, if there is vulvar itching, it is recommended to do a routine examination of leucorrhea to determine which type of vaginitis it is and then treat it symptomatically. Keep the vulva clean and dry. Avoid scratching. Wash with hot water and use soap. The underwear should be breathable and loose. |
