What to do if the scar is hard after cesarean section

After a cesarean section, a permanent mark is left on the pregnant mother's belly, a scar about 10 centimeters long. Of course, this scar will be different for each person. In addition to personal skin conditions, scar care is particularly important. If not properly cared for, the scar will become hard, itchy, infected, etc., which will be very troublesome. What I want to talk about today is the problem of hard scars after cesarean section.

Caesarean section scars are marks left on the wound after surgery. They are generally white or grayish white, smooth and hard. About two to three weeks after the surgical incision has healed, the scar begins to grow, and the area becomes red, purple, hardened, and protrudes from the skin surface. There are new nerve endings in the scar, but they are disorganized.

When performing cesarean section wound care, you must pay attention to methods to prevent cesarean section scar hyperplasia. The following are some tips to prevent cesarean section scar hyperplasia:

1. Ginger friction method: Slice the ginger and gently rub the scar to inhibit the continued growth of granulation tissue.

2. Vitamin C application method: Vitamin C has a whitening effect. Apply vitamin C on darker scars to whiten them and make them consistent with the tone of the surrounding healthy skin.

3. Massage method: Rub the scar with the base of your palm, three times a day, each time for 5-10 minutes. This method is most effective for wounds that have just shed scabs, but is less effective for old scars.

4. Lavender essential oil application method: The effect of lavender essential oil in reducing scars is widely recognized. However, lavender essential oil is not very effective for new scars or scars that are more than 8 years old. It has a certain effect on scars that are one to two years old. In addition, you should always be extremely careful when using essential oils. When applying essential oils to scars, do not apply too much to skin without scars.

5. Vitamin E application method: Vitamin E can penetrate into the skin and play its moisturizing effect. At the same time, vitamin E can also maintain skin elasticity. But you may not be familiar with the scar removal effect of vitamin E. Poke a hole in the vitamin E capsule with a needle, take out the liquid inside and apply it on the scar and gently massage for 5-10 minutes, twice a day. You will see better results if you persist.
