The umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck for two weeks and the fetal position is abnormal. How to correct it?

During pregnancy, women should have encountered the phenomenon of the umbilical cord wrapped around the neck of the fetus. If this phenomenon occurs, expectant mothers should not be too anxious. In many cases, the baby will adjust on its own. If the fetus is in an abnormal position, the choice of delivery method should be based on the doctor's advice.

1. Umbilical cord around the neck:

Most babies with the umbilical cord wrapped around the neck can untie themselves. Most fetuses are very smart. When they feel uncomfortable, they will take the initiative to move to get out of trouble. Sometimes when you gently pat the fetus on your abdomen, the fetus will actively move to the other side and away from the patted area. When the umbilical cord is wrapped around the fetus and is wrapped tightly, making the fetus feel uncomfortable, he will move around, looking for a comfortable position, moving left and right. When the fetus turns back, the umbilical cord will naturally be untangled and the fetus will be able to rest comfortably for a while.

2. How to correct the umbilical cord around the neck

Reduce vibration: If a pregnant woman in the late stages of pregnancy finds that the umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck, and the fetus is in an abnormal position and the fetal head has not entered the pelvis, she cannot correct the fetal position by correcting the body position to prevent the umbilical cord from becoming tighter during excessive fetal movement. Try to minimize vibrations and avoid riding on bumpy roads.

Count fetal movements frequently: Expectant mothers should learn to count fetal movements. The normal fetal movement counting standard is: more than 10 times every 12 hours. Generally, expectant mothers are required to count fetal movements three times a day (once in the morning, afternoon and evening) for one hour each time. Normal fetal movements should be at least three times or more per hour. Each movement should be counted. Sometimes there will be a series of fetal movements, which will be counted as one. Wait 5-6 minutes before doing it again.

Lie on your left side more often: Lie on your left side more often when sleeping to increase blood flow to the uterus and placenta. You can put two pillows under your thighs for more comfort.

Appropriate activities: Pregnant mothers should do appropriate activities during pregnancy. They cannot always sit still and should avoid being too strenuous when doing activities. For example, walking, swimming, and prenatal gymnastics are all good, but you must pay attention to safety, have the supervision of your family, and try to exercise in a quiet environment.

Consider cesarean section: If the baby with the umbilical cord around the neck has an abnormal heartbeat and suffers from intrauterine hypoxia during delivery, a cesarean section should be performed promptly. When the number of entanglements is large, elective cesarean section can be chosen.

3. Umbilical cord around the neck for two weeks :

There are many types of umbilical cord around the neck for two weeks, such as the umbilical cord around the neck for two weeks at 30 weeks of pregnancy, the umbilical cord around the neck for two weeks at 35 weeks of pregnancy, etc. It is relatively rare for the umbilical cord to be around the neck for more than three weeks or to be wrapped around the fetal trunk or limbs. The umbilical cord has compensatory stretching, and loose winding has little effect on the fetus. However, winding too tightly or multiple times can affect the blood supply to the fetus, and there is a risk of fetal heart rate changes, perinatal hypoxia, suffocation, and even death.

4. How to correct the umbilical cord around the neck for two weeks

When the fetus feels uncomfortable, he will actively move to get out of the predicament. Sometimes when the expectant mother gently pats the fetus on the abdomen, the fetus will actively move to the other side and leave the patting area. Under B-ultrasound, it can often be seen that when the B-ultrasound probe presses the expectant mother's abdomen with a little force, the fetus will feel the pressure and move to the side.

What you need to pay attention to is to reduce vibration and keep sleeping on the left side;

Learn to count fetal movements. If there are too many or too few fetal movements, go to the hospital for examination in time;

If there is too much or too little amniotic fluid or the fetus is in an abnormal position, prenatal examinations should be done;

Determine the condition of the umbilical cord through indirect methods such as fetal heart monitoring and ultrasound examination;

Don't ask for a cesarean section because you are afraid of an umbilical cord accident.
