What should you pay attention to when taking medicine for an abortion?

There are many couples or boyfriends and girlfriends who do not take protective measures during sexual intercourse, resulting in unwanted pregnancies. When this happens, most people will choose to go to the hospital for an abortion. However, many people realize that abortion is very harmful to the female body. However, in unavoidable situations, abortion is necessary. So what should you pay attention to when taking medicine for an abortion?

Artificial abortion generally refers to a pregnancy within 24 weeks, which is performed by artificial means due to family planning, illness, prevention of congenital malformations, genetic diseases and illegal pregnancy. Birth control mainly relies on contraceptive measures, and abortion is only a supplementary method after contraception fails. There are two types of artificial abortion: medical abortion and mechanical abortion. The earlier the pregnancy is, the simpler, safer and less bleeding the method will be. The appropriate time for artificial abortion is generally within two and a half months after menopause, because at this time the uterus is not too large, there is not too much pregnancy tissue, and the fetus is also small, making it easy to suck out, the operation time is short, and the bleeding is less. If the pregnancy is less than 49 days, oral medication can be used for abortion, but the woman needs to stay in the hospital to observe whether the pregnancy tissue has been completely discharged. Otherwise, improper abortion can lead to heavy bleeding.

Although miscarriage is a "short confinement period", it should be recuperated in the same way as the "long confinement period" of full-term delivery. Nutritious and easily digestible foods such as eggs, milk, ribs, chicken, and fish should be consumed. It is forbidden to use cold water to wash your hair, bathe, wash your hands, or wash clothes and vegetables, otherwise the stimulation of cold water can induce arthritis, leaving behind pain in the joints and muscles affected by the cold.

Pay special attention to hygiene after the operation, change your underwear frequently, wash your vulva daily, change and disinfect toilet paper frequently. Those with bleeding are absolutely prohibited from douches or sitting baths to avoid ascending infection. Sexual intercourse is prohibited within 4 weeks after the operation. After resuming life, you should insist on contraception.

Generally speaking, there will be bleeding during abortion, but it should be noted that the bleeding usually lasts for 3 to 5 days after the operation, and no more than 10 days at most. If the bleeding persists, you should go to the hospital for examination in time to find out the cause and treat it symptomatically. Of course, it also needs to be emphasized that protective measures must be taken to avoid abortion as much as possible.
