Is salpingography harmful to the body?

Among the various causes of female infertility, one of them is problems with the fallopian tubes. Therefore, it is generally recommended to avoid angiography when examining the cause of infertility in women, but many women worry about the harm it may cause to their bodies. So, is angiography harmful to the human body?

Is imaging harmful to the human body?

Angiography is currently a common method to examine fallopian tube blockage, the location of fallopian tube blockage, and the shape of the uterine cavity. Under testing, it does not cause much harm to women's bodies. And if you go to a regular hospital for examination and perform the angiography normally and properly, the harm to women will be much smaller. And in many cases, for mild fallopian tube blockage, when doing angiography examination, it has a certain therapeutic effect, which is of certain benefit to these female friends.

In fact, as long as you pay attention to some matters before and after the examination as instructed by the doctor, there will be no complications. Therefore, the harm to the human body during this examination is relatively light. When there is a feeling of blockage of the fallopian tubes due to bilateral fallopian tube spasm, it must be repeated. It is normal to have vaginal bleeding within seven days after the angiography. If it exceeds seven days, you need to go to the hospital for examination.

Under the operation of an experienced doctor, the accuracy of angiography examination of both fallopian tubes can reach 98%, which is also effective for treatment. It is one of the common examination methods currently used to check whether both fallopian tubes are unobstructed and the degree of obstruction. From a clinical medical perspective, the side effects of angiography are very mild.

Women who cannot get pregnant normally during marriage should go to the hospital for a gynecological examination to determine the cause of infertility. If it is suspected to be caused by fallopian tube obstruction, angiography must be performed for further treatment after diagnosis. Appropriate angiography examination will not cause adverse effects on the body.

The whole process of angiography

The first step is to dilate the vagina and expose the cervix. The cervix and fornix are disinfected and sterilized with iohexol, the cervical tube is filled with iohexol to clear the gas in the tube, and the tube is inserted into the cervical canal along the position in the uterine cavity. The cervical clamp is tightened so that the conical rubber head of the tube is firmly attached to the cervix to prevent the discharge of the drug.

The second step is that during the angiography examination, the patient lies flat on the X-ray operating platform, basically disinfects the private parts and vagina, then spreads out the sterile testing towel, and then checks the position and size of the uterus.

The third step is to observe the contrast agent flowing through the uterine cavity under X-ray fluoroscopy, and gradually introduce iodized oil under fluorescent fluoroscopy. The first introduction amount is 3~5ml, and observe its entry into the uterus and flow through the fallopian tubes on both sides. At this time, a picture will be taken and iodized oil will be introduced again, and another film will be taken after 5-10 minutes.

Step 4. Take another photo at the same location one day later, and then observe whether there is scattered iodine oil in the abdomen. If both fallopian tubes are blocked, there will be no iodized oil in the pelvis. If there is only a small amount of iodine oil, it can be considered that both fallopian tubes are obstructed.
