What are the symptoms and treatment of Trichomonas vaginitis?

Many women have certain gynecological diseases, especially vaginitis, which always recurs and is very annoying. Trichomonas vaginitis is even more unbearable. If it is not treated in time, it will cause inflammation in other parts of the body. But how should this disease be treated? Let me share with you the symptoms and treatment methods of Trichomonas vaginitis!

Typical symptoms of Trichomonas vaginitis:

Most cases are asymptomatic. Women may feel uncomfortable for a week or several months, and then improve significantly due to menstruation or pregnancy. The vaginal mucosa is inflamed, bright red, covered with patchy pseudomembranes, often accompanied by foamy secretions, and they feel itching to varying degrees, and a few have a burning sensation. Leucorrhea increases and turns yellow-green. Frequent urination, urgency, pain, hematuria, abdominal pain, diarrhea, mucous stools, alveolar pus discharge, and tooth decay may occasionally occur. It often causes urethritis and can lead to cystitis and Bartholin's glanditis.

Treatment of Trichomonas vaginitis:

1. Systemic treatment

(1) Metronidazole (Flagyl) 3 times a day for adults and reduced dose for children. The treatment course for intestinal trichomoniasis is 3 to 5 days. Trichomonas urethritis, vaginitis, and stomatitis should be treated with the medicine for 7 to 10 days. It is forbidden to use for pregnant and lactating women.

(2) Tinidazole

For genitourinary tract and oral infections, double the first dose, once a day, for 5 to 6 days.

(3) Take trichostatin three times a day for 5 to 7 days.

2. Local treatment

(1) For trichomoniasis, first scrub the vaginal wall with a soapy cotton ball, and rinse the vagina with 0.02% potassium permanganate solution or warm water. Then wash with 1% lactic acid or 0.5% acetic acid and wipe dry. Then, insert any one of divinet, carbazol or metronidazole into the posterior fornix of the vagina or spray it into the vagina once every night or every other night. One course of treatment is 7 to 10 days, and 2 to 3 courses can be used in succession.

(2) Oral hygiene: Rinse your mouth with salt water, keep your oral cavity clean and hygienic, and do not eat sweet foods before going to bed.

When Trichomonas vaginitis occurs, timely treatment is a very correct choice. Don't keep it to yourself. If you choose to endure it silently, it will not only fail to play a good role, but will make the condition worse. It is best to use medication to control it in time. You must pay attention to personal hygiene, insist on treatment, and don't give up treatment when you see the symptoms.
