Why does the amount of vaginal discharge increase and become yellow?

Women can usually determine whether they have any disease by the secretion of leucorrhea. If the amount of leucorrhea suddenly increases, or the color becomes a little yellow, these are deviations from the normal state. You may notice something at this time, but you may not be able to clearly understand the reason for this abnormality. Finding the cause is extremely important for treatment, so let me tell you what the reason is.

Increased vaginal discharge does not necessarily mean illness, but most of the time it is caused by various gynecological diseases, external causes such as Trichomonas infection, most of which are transmitted through sexual intercourse. Patients often complain of a large amount of yellow-green or gray foamy and foul-smelling secretions, which are caused by many factors including pathogen infection and cervical erosion.

1. Cervical erosion: Childbirth lacerations, changes in sex hormones or inflammation of the cervix caused by sexual activity may all lead to cervical erosion and excessive leucorrhea. A small number of women may experience cervical erosion without any cause, that is, "congenital cervical erosion", which can also cause excessive leucorrhea.

2. Pathogen infection: Using contaminated sanitary products allows pathogens to enter the reproductive tract through the vaginal opening, causing infection and excessive vaginal discharge. Some types of pathogens enter the female reproductive system and may infect the reproductive tract, causing excessive vaginal discharge.

3. Foreign objects have entered the reproductive organs. There are gauze, tampons, menstrual plugs, etc. in the vagina. Some women's uterus is not suitable for the placement of contraceptive devices, and those who have them will have their reproductive organs stimulated and increase the amount of leucorrhea.

The internal cause is mainly the poor function of certain organs in the body, which leads to leucorrhea. A common example is leucorrhea due to spleen deficiency. This type of patient may have a weak spleen and stomach, are prone to diarrhea, and have poor digestive function, which will cause a lot of transparent, watery leucorrhea to involuntarily flow out of the vagina.

In general, the causes of abnormal leucorrhea are as described above, but patients should not use this as a basis for diagnosis. For safety and health reasons, they should go to the gynecology clinic for examination before taking medication. At the same time, the editor strongly recommends that women should frequently use special lotion or warm water to clean their genitals, because it is effective in relieving leucorrhea.
