Where is the hymen located?

The hymen is a thin membrane covering the female vagina. China is a country with a virgin complex. However, the rupture of the hymen can be caused not only by sexual activity, but also by many strenuous activities, such as frequent cycling or horse riding. Therefore, many girls are concerned about the location of the hymen. So, where is the hymen located? Let’s take a closer look at it below.

The hymen is a hollow thin membrane covering the external opening of the female vagina. It is about 1 to 2 mm thick. Both sides of the membrane are moist mucous membranes. Between the two layers of mucous membranes are connective tissue, microvessels and nerve endings. The small hole in the middle is called the hymen hole.

The size of the hymen hole and the thickness of the membrane may vary from person to person. The diameter of the hymen hole is about 1 to 1.5 cm, usually round, oval or serrated; some are crescent-shaped, with the hole biased to one side; some are septum-shaped holes, with two small holes arranged vertically or horizontally; some have many scattered small holes, just like the small holes on a sieve.

The hymen can prevent external unclean things from entering the vagina and has the function of protecting the vagina. Before puberty, the ovaries secrete very little estrogen, and the vaginal mucosa is thin, with few wrinkles and low acidity, so the resistance is poor. The hymen has a protective function to block bacteria from invading the vagina. After puberty, with the development of the ovaries, the estrogen in the body increases, the vaginal resistance is strengthened, and the hymen gradually loses its function.

The above is an introduction to the location of the hymen. I hope it will be helpful for women to understand. The position of the hymen is generally relatively fixed. It is mainly a 2 mm thick thin film. As long as we observe carefully, we can find the position of the hymen. We must be objective in our understanding of the hymen. There are many ways that it may rupture, so we cannot have an extreme understanding of it.
