It will not only lead to premature birth of the fetus but also threaten the life safety of pregnant women. Therefore, we must pay great attention to it. Pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH), formerly known as preeclampsia, is a disease specific to pregnancy and only pregnant women will suffer from it. According to an epidemiological survey conducted in 25 provinces and cities in my country in 1998, approximately 9.4% of pregnant women suffered from pregnancy-induced hypertension to varying degrees. The disease occurs after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Pregnant women experience symptoms such as hypertension, edema, and proteinuria. In severe cases, they may experience convulsions (eclampsia), coma, organ failure, and even death of the mother and baby.

1. General treatment

(1) Rest in the left side lying position: Rest is extremely important for gestational hypertension, and the left side lying position has important therapeutic significance.

(2) Provide a high-protein, high-vitamin, low-fat, low-carbohydrate, and low-sodium diet.

(3) Psychiatric and psychological treatment can relieve mental concerns and avoid all adverse stimuli.

2. Medication

(3) Antihypertensive drugs Although antihypertensive drugs can lower blood pressure, they also reduce blood flow to important organs, especially the blood flow to the uterus and placenta, which may cause certain harm to the fetus. Therefore, they are rarely used for mild hypertension.

(4) Volume expansion treatment.
