My stomach is hard when my due date is approaching. Why?

As the due date approaches, many mothers have this feeling: their stomach feels harder than before, and it feels very tight to the touch, and it hardens in waves, and sometimes even a little painful. What is the reason for this? Many pregnant women are deeply worried and even feel scared. These are all normal phenomena, so let us learn more about this symptom.

1. The hardness of the abdomen is probably caused by false labor. Labor contraction refers to an important feature of labor. In short, it is regular contraction of the uterus. The contractions are irregular and weak at first, then gradually become regular, becoming increasingly stronger, lasting longer, and with shorter intervals, such as an interval of 2-3 minutes, lasting 50-60 seconds.

2. You can time yourself to see if there is a regularity. Irregularity is false labor, while regularity is real labor and the baby may be coming out. Pay attention to whether there is spotting or water breaking. If water breaking, try to raise your buttocks to reduce the outflow of amniotic fluid and go to the hospital immediately.

This phenomenon usually occurs before the due date. If you are worried, you can go to the hospital and ask the doctor to help you listen to the fetal heart rate, or do a fetal monitor.

From my personal experience, if you want your cervix to dilate faster when you are about to give birth, you should walk more, but you should also pay attention to maintaining your physical strength and eat more energy-replenishing foods. I walked for two days and in the last two hours I delivered the baby.

3. Guidance: There are irregular uterine contractions in the last few months of pregnancy, especially in the last few weeks. After the fetal movement, just put your hands on your abdomen and you will feel your abdomen hardening from time to time. This type of contraction is irregular, non-cyclical, and painless.

If you feel very uncomfortable, you should see a doctor as soon as possible so that the cause can be accurately diagnosed. Especially when you are having your period, you should be more careful, but at the same time, don't be too nervous, because nervousness can also cause false labor. As long as you pay more attention to it and there are no accidents, you can give birth to a healthy baby.
