Medicine Baby Analysis The "Guidelines for the Clinical Application of Antimicrobial Drugs" (2015 edition) issued by my country does point out that breastfeeding should be suspended when any antimicrobial drugs are used by breastfeeding patients. However, if a breastfeeding mother suffers from severe mastitis, according to the indications for the use of antimicrobial drugs proposed in the "Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Lactating Mastitis in China" (2020): symptoms are severe at the onset of the disease, including systemic and local symptoms. When symptoms are severe or mild symptoms cannot be relieved by empirical treatment, consider the rational use of antimicrobial drugs. If the drug sensitivity test is negative, benzylpenicillin sodium, cefradine, and ceftriaxone can be used; if the drug sensitivity test is positive, erythromycin, azithromycin, or clindamycin is recommended (but clindamycin should not be used for women who have given birth within 1 month because it may cause pseudomembranous enterocolitis in infants). |
