Ding Dong~ Please accept these tips on voluntary blood donation

Voluntary blood donation is a noble act of selfless dedication and saving lives, and is the general direction of my country's blood industry.

Blood donation is a manifestation of love, which can relieve patients from pain and even save other people's lives. Its value cannot be measured by money. Advocating free blood donation is necessary to save lives and is a manifestation of social civilization and progress.

1. The benefits of voluntary blood donation

1. Beneficial to blood metabolism

Appropriate blood donation can stimulate the body to produce new blood cells, enhance hematopoietic vitality, benefit blood metabolism, and enhance the body's immunity.

2. Reduce blood viscosity

Persistently donating a moderate amount of blood can significantly reduce blood viscosity, speed up blood flow, and help improve the body's blood and oxygen supply and maintain normal physiological functions.

3. Prevent the occurrence of some diseases

Donating blood regularly and in moderation can remove impurities, toxins, and fat from the blood, reduce the incidence of arteriosclerosis and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and prevent cancer.

4. Good for Mental Health

Donating blood is a noble act. While helping others and being kind to others, it can purify your spirit, comfort your soul, and is beneficial to your mental health.

2. Will voluntary blood donation spread diseases?

Donating blood voluntarily will not transmit diseases. Because the needles and blood bags used by the central blood station are disposable blood collection equipment that have passed strict national testing, each blood donor uses a new blood bag, and after enough blood is collected, the needle is cut off on the spot, and then centrally disinfected with high pressure and destroyed.

3. Basic requirements for blood donation

According to the Blood Donation Law of the People's Republic of China, blood donors must meet the following conditions:
1. Applicants must be between 18 and 55 years old.
2. Normal physical development, with male weight not less than 50 kg and female weight not less than 45 kg.
3. The body temperature is normal, and one week after taking medicine for cold, fever, cough, tooth extraction, etc.
4. Blood pressure cannot be low, and the patient must not have anemia or any blood-borne diseases.
5. People who have undergone a major surgery should not donate blood within one year, and people who have undergone a minor surgery should not donate blood within three months.
6. Bring your ID card. Students who have participated in blood donation can bring their free blood donation certificate.
7. People who have had tattoos for less than one year should not donate blood.
8. Girls should avoid the menstrual period and the three days before and after the period.

4. Preparations before donating blood

Do not take medicine, drink alcohol, or eat a light diet before donating blood.

Make sure you get enough sleep and avoid strenuous exercise the day before donating blood.

Drinking some water appropriately can enhance the body's tolerance and regulatory function, but it is not advisable to drink excessively.

5. Precautions after blood donation

The National Health Commission pointed out the matters that need to be paid attention to after donating blood:

1. Protect the venipuncture site. Do not let it get wet, contaminated by dirty objects, or rub it within 24 hours.

2. Personal activities should be moderate. Do not do physical labor, sports competitions, or overnight entertainment on the day after donating blood.

3. Do not overdo the nutritional supplements. You can eat fresh fruits and vegetables, soy products, dairy products, fish, shrimp, meat, eggs, etc.

4. Drink more water than usual and avoid coffee or alcohol.

5. Avoid staying in excessively hot environments.
