What is the review schedule for orthokeratology lenses?

The review time is as follows:

★The morning after the first wearing of the lenses. It is generally recommended to recheck the lenses. This recheck is the most important one. The fitter can judge whether the lens position is correct, whether the expected effect is achieved, whether the child's eyes are abnormal, and whether the child has learned how to take off the lenses through the results of wearing the lenses overnight.

★Wear the lenses for 1~2 weeks. You can go directly to the fitter this time. Observe the corneal health and the effect of wearing the lenses for a week. Follow the doctor's advice for specific situations.

★Wear the glasses for 1 month. Take off the lenses at home after getting up in the morning, and come to the hospital for a follow-up examination in the afternoon. Come to the hospital before 16:00 to check whether your vision is ideal in the afternoon.

★Regular check-ups every 2-3 months in the later stage and follow-up if any discomfort occurs.

For all follow-up examinations, you need to carry your reshaping lenses, medical card and medical record book with you.

What are the main contents of the review?

1. Ask the patient whether he has any discomfort symptoms, such as foreign body sensation, tearing, secretion, burning pain, etc.

3. Whether you wear your glasses regularly every day and whether you wear them for too long or too short a time.

4. Whether the lens has been used beyond the expiration date.

Routine examination

1. Ocular surface signs: The health of the cornea, conjunctiva, and eyelids. Checking the near and far naked eye vision can directly show the effect of using orthokeratology lenses.

2. Check the lens: whether there are scratches, sediment pollution, and whether the lens is damaged or deformed.

Other related inspections

1. The hearing aid fitter will regularly conduct relevant examinations on the patient's vision, eye axis, corneal topography, etc. as needed.

2. Confirm whether the care products are used in accordance with regulations and provide further guidance and training as appropriate.

3. Any problems found during the review must be dealt with promptly.

4. Follow up regularly and perform lens maintenance as required.

5. The fitter will evaluate the lens fitting status as needed.
