How to prevent tick bites? What are the symptoms of tick bites?

What exactly are ticks? What harm do ticks do to the human body? Ticks, also known as dog beans, are very common in rural areas. In most cases, we can find ticks on dogs, cats and other animals. When they are not sucking blood, ticks are only the size of shriveled mung beans. Once they are full of blood, ticks are the size of soybeans or even as big as a fingernail.

Ticks are divided into Ixodes persulcatus, Dermacentor steppe, Hyalomma australis, and Ornithodorospermum papillosa. These ticks are mostly distributed in Northeast China, North China, Northwest China, and Tibet, and like to parasitize on small animals. What kind of harm will there be when a tick bites a human body?

In fact, when a tick bites a person, most people will not feel anything. However, if the chelicerae and hypostome penetrate the human skin or the skin of an animal at the same time, local edema and acute inflammatory reactions will occur, and even secondary infection may occur.

In theory, these symptoms are generally harmless to the body as long as they are treated or controlled in time. However, why do so many people die after being bitten by ticks? This is because some ticks secrete a neurotoxin in their saliva when they bite and suck blood, which causes conduction disorders in the human body's motor fibers, and then causes ascending muscle paralysis, resulting in respiratory failure and death.

Therefore, when a tick is found on the body, it must be removed in time. If the tick bites the body and drills into the skin, apply alcohol to the tick's body to relax the tick's head or completely kill it, and then remove it with pointed tweezers. Never use your fingernails to pull the tick out, as this will only make the tick drill deeper into the skin.

If the bitten area becomes inflamed, ulcerated, erythematous, and feverish, you must seek medical attention promptly to prevent fatal damage to the body due to untimely treatment.

So, how to prevent ticks from biting people? The best way to prevent ticks is to avoid playing in grasslands and woods. If you need to go, you can use biological pesticides or pesticides such as dichlorvos for spraying, or wear long socks and boots, wear a protective hat, and apply insect repellent on exposed skin. Of course, it is not clear whether these methods can completely prevent ticks, but it is certain that applying mosquito repellent is effective in preventing ticks.
