Can wolfberry reduce the three highs? How can blood lipids be lowered?

Can wolfberry reduce the three highs? How can blood lipids be lowered?

Wolfberry is a common traditional Chinese medicine and also a health product. It is commonly used to make soup and sweet soup. Wolfberry is suitable for high blood pressure. The ingredients it contains can also reduce the three highs, but this does not mean that eating wolfberry can reduce the three highs. Daily living and eating habits and corresponding drug treatment are still needed.

Can wolfberry reduce the three highs?

Lycium barbarum polysaccharides in wolfberry do have the effect of lowering blood pressure, blood sugar and blood lipids. However, in our daily diet, the amount of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides we ingest by eating a small handful of wolfberry is far from achieving the effect of lowering the three highs. Therefore, it is not advisable to rely solely on eating wolfberry to achieve the effect of lowering blood pressure, blood sugar and blood lipids.

The recommended daily intake of wolfberries is only a few dozen, which is equivalent to about 10g in weight, which is only one-tenth of the nutrients contained in 100g of wolfberries. It is nonsense to talk about the efficacy without considering the dosage. Therefore, it is nonsense to rely on eating wolfberries to reduce the "three highs".

In daily life, eating some wolfberries in moderation can enrich the types of food intake and is conducive to balanced and comprehensive nutrition, but it does not mean that it can cure all diseases. Don't be superstitious about wolfberries in daily life, otherwise, there will not be so many patients with "three highs" in life.

Of course, friends with three highs can eat wolfberry, but after all, wolfberry is not an ordinary food. Wolfberry is a medicine. Only a small amount is needed. Do not overdose. You cannot rely on wolfberry to lower blood pressure, blood sugar and blood lipids.

How to lower blood lipids

1. Exercise:

At least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. People who don't have the habit of exercising can start with a gentle walk, 10 minutes a day, and gradually increase to 30 minutes. The speed can also be from slow to fast. People who have the habit of exercising can choose swimming, table tennis, badminton, etc. with a slightly higher intensity. But avoid excessive exercise.

2. Diet:

Vegetables should account for 50% of the total meal, staple foods should account for 25%, and the remaining 25% should be high-quality protein (soy products, fish, skinless poultry, lean meat).

Replace half of the original meat with soy products, and replace the remaining half with fish and skinless poultry. Replace half of the staple food with whole grains.

This can minimize the risk of excessive calorie intake and provide adequate dietary fiber (which helps lower fat) and micronutrients.

Generally, after one to two months of observation, if blood lipids have not dropped to the target value, drug treatment will be considered. However, this non-drug treatment of diet control + exercise should be maintained to maximize the therapeutic effect of hyperlipidemia.

How to adjust the diet for dyslipidemia

The staple food of cereals and potatoes should be small in quantity and large in variety. If the staple food is large in quantity, it can still be converted into fat, so there is no taboo on the type of staple food, but attention must be paid to diversification. There should be more than 12 kinds of food per day (excluding beverages, oils, condiments and side dishes), and more than 25 kinds per week.

For vegetables, you should eat more green leafy vegetables, fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. Pay attention to controlling the daily salt intake, eat a light diet, use less oil for cooking, and use vegetable oil instead of animal oil.

Eat some fish and shrimp appropriately, eat less meat, especially pork with high fat content, and eat some skinless poultry meat appropriately. It is best not to eat vegetarian food, because meat contains a lot of protein, minerals, vitamins and other beneficial ingredients needed by humans. Eat less animal offal, fish roe, squid, crab roe, etc.; crispy cakes, fried dough sticks, fried fast food, etc.
