Can I express my milk after one day of weaning?

The baby is about to be weaned, but the mother's milk is still inexhaustible, so there will be a phenomenon of milk swelling, and she can't help but want to squeeze it out. So can the milk be squeezed out after weaning?

Mothers who exclusively breastfeed know that after weaning their children, the milk that was originally secreted by the body suddenly has less and less "foothold". Without the sucking of the baby's mouth, the secretion of milk cannot be stopped for a while, and a lot of milk accumulates in the breast, making the mother's milk swollen and uncomfortable.

During this period, if the mother can bear it, there is no need to squeeze the milk. The milk will naturally decrease until it stops due to lack of stimulation. If the breast engorgement is unbearable, you can squeeze out a small amount of milk to relieve the discomfort caused by the engorgement, but you cannot squeeze it out completely, as that will stimulate the secretion of milk.

So what should mothers do if the breasts feel bloated and painful after weaning?

1. It is normal for milk to swell during the weaning process. If you really can't bear it, use a hot towel to apply heat to relieve the pain. Go to the pharmacy to buy maltose and hawthorn fruit to boil water and drink it. Boil 10 grams each time with two bowls of water and drink it a day. Add vitamin B6 tablets, three times a day, 10 tablets each time, and continue to eat it for a few days.

2. Eating more Amaranth with three meals a day can greatly help to reduce milk production.

3. You can put a basin of hot water on your knees, then bend your upper body to your knees, soak your breasts in the basin, and gently shake your breasts. Taking advantage of the force, the milk can flow out more easily.

4. Allow your breasts to swell and endure the pain. After about a week, they will swell back down. During the weaning period, you must be patient and do not let your baby suck intermittently, or squeeze breast milk due to swelling and pain, as this will inevitably increase the weaning time.

5. Stop eating too many nourishing soups, reduce the nutritional value, and avoid eating stewed black chicken, boiled meat, or nutritious health-preserving medicinal foods. Then you can use medicine to stop the secretion of milk.

How long does it take for the hind milk to increase after weaning?

Studies have found that the formation of milk is the result of the interaction between lactogen and the milk secretion reflex surface. The baby's sucking stimulates the peripheral nerves of the nipple and transmits the stimulating information to the anterior pituitary gland, causing it to secrete lactogen. During the weaning process, the baby's sucking time and frequency will decrease, and the secretion of lactogen will also decrease. The milk will gradually change from a large amount of secretion to no secretion, and the milk swelling will gradually subside. This is a natural process.

Mothers do not need to be overly anxious after weaning. Generally, the milk supply will stop on its own within a week to ten days, and it will not be easy to have milk stagnation. After normal weaning, if there is too much breast milk and the natural weaning effect is not good, you can also use artificial weaning methods.
