Is it fetal toxin if pregnant women often fart?

In fact, most pregnant women will be very nervous during pregnancy, because at this time, the slightest carelessness can easily cause fetal arrest. Because the pregnant woman's body undergoes major changes during pregnancy, various physical changes that are not normal are likely to occur. Some people also say that if pregnant women always fart, it is an important sign of expelling fetal toxins. Is this true?

About 70% of farts are air that you inhale along with your food when you eat. At the same time, the air swallowed through the mouth accounts for 70% of the exhaust gas composition. People who eat voraciously and quickly are more likely to fart. When saliva and food are fully mixed, the air is naturally expelled.

Generally speaking, a healthy person has 100 ml of gas in the digestive tract, and the amount of gas that is excreted from the body as farts is 100 to 2800 ml per day for an adult male, with a fairly large range. This is because the types of diets vary greatly among different people, and difficult-to-digest potatoes and beans can increase the amount of waste gas by 2-10 times. Europeans and Americans fart very little because they consume less dietary fiber. However, the flip side of this is that the more meat they eat, the smellier their farts.

Why do farts during pregnancy smell so bad? Pregnancy hormones affect gastrointestinal function so farting is normal. The reason why your farts are particularly smelly may be that the gradual growth of the fetus affects the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal function, causing the gas to be retained for a longer time. It may also be because you eat too much high-protein food or have an increase in intestinal gas-producing bacteria.

How can it be improved? If you don't have any abdominal discomfort or pain, there is generally no problem. In order to avoid the production of harmful gases as much as possible, we should first improve our diet and lifestyle:

1. People who are accustomed to consuming too much animal protein and fat in their diet should switch to foods rich in dietary fiber such as root vegetables, potatoes, beans, and seaweed to improve the bacterial environment in the intestines.

2. When beneficial bacteria such as lactobacillus increase, waste gas is easy to discharge. On the contrary, when harmful bacteria increase, the gas is not easy to discharge.

3. Among the three meals a day, try to eat more food at breakfast and lunch, and pay attention to reducing the amount of food at night when the gastrointestinal function is weaker.

4. Stress will also increase harmful bacteria and waste gas in the intestines, so relax your body and mind and don't put too much pressure on yourself.
