Here I will introduce you to some relevant knowledge about rosacea!

1. Causes

The cause of rosacea is not yet fully understood. It may be due to the effects of various internal and external harmful factors, such as gastrointestinal dysfunction, endocrine disorders, irregular menstruation, mental factors, trichophyton infestation, lesion infection, high temperature and cold stimulation, drinking and eating spicy and irritating foods, etc., which cause facial vasomotor nerve disorders and long-term capillary dilation.

2. Treatment Methods

1. Taking oral medications: such as metronidazole, tetracycline, etc. Generally, such oral medications have serious side effects. Most people will give up treatment after a period of time.

2. Electrolysis treatment: suitable for small areas of capillary dilation, and cryosurgery is suitable for the proliferative stage; both are likely to leave scars. It is generally not used by female patients and is also used with caution in hospitals.

3. Surgical treatment of rosacea: laser cutting, which has greater risks. It is only suitable for rosacea in the hypertrophic stage, and the success rate is unknown.

4. Rosacea resection is a surgical treatment for rosacea. In patients with mid-to-late stage rosacea, the capillaries in the nose are significantly dilated, the sebaceous glands and connective tissue proliferate, the skin of the nose becomes flushed and hypertrophic, and there are raised nodules of varying sizes on the surface, which are called rhinophyma. It is difficult to achieve the purpose of treatment by drugs alone, and surgery must be used to restore the shape of the nose. [1]
