A small amount of pelvic effusion usually does not require treatment, but regular check-ups are required. If it is a more serious pelvic inflammatory disease, it is usually necessary to undergo surgery as soon as possible. How is pelvic effusion surgery generally performed?

How to perform pelvic effusion surgery?

Pelvic fluid extraction surgery can be done by extracting fluid from the posterior fornix of the vagina or by puncturing the abdominal cavity. Operation steps: Use a very thick needle to penetrate into the pelvic cavity through the abdominal cavity or the posterior fornix of the vagina to extract pelvic fluid. Pelvic fluid extraction is only performed when there is a lot of fluid accumulation, because the accumulation will recur. After the pelvic fluid is extracted, anti-inflammatory drugs are still needed for anti-inflammatory treatment. If the pelvic effusion is small, there is no need to drain the effusion, as long as anti-inflammatory drugs are used in combination with blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing drugs.

Pelvic effusion diseases can be divided into physiological pelvic effusion and pathological pelvic effusion. However, physiological pelvic effusion generally does not require special treatment and will disappear on its own after ovulation. Pathological pelvic effusion is mainly caused by inflammation. If it is not treated, it will gradually grow and worsen the condition. It will not only affect normal life, but also endanger other organs and even cause infertility.

Currently, there are two methods for treating pelvic effusion.

First, fluid extraction. Pelvic fluid extraction mainly uses a relatively thick needle to penetrate the pelvic cavity through the vagina to extract the accumulated fluid. The entire operation process is similar to blood drawing and is relatively simple. Pelvic fluid extraction is not only painful but also ineffective, and bacterial infection can easily occur during the operation. Fluid extraction is generally not performed unless it is absolutely necessary.

Second, physical therapy. The main method is hot compress to stimulate pelvic blood circulation, improve nutritional status, enhance metabolism, and facilitate the absorption of inflammation. You can prepare a hot water bottle for hot compress, or you can use massage or hot water sitting bath methods.

Patients feel quite painful during the fluid extraction surgery, so it is recommended that they combine it with other treatment methods. During the treatment process, patients should take good care of their diet, keep their diet light, and avoid eating raw, cold, or irritating foods, as these foods are not conducive to recovery. You can take more foods that promote blood circulation and resolve stagnation, such as hawthorn, orange peel, fruit jelly bark, peach kernel, etc.
