Green leucorrhea

Green leucorrhea

It is well known that healthy leucorrhea should be colorless, odorless, and usually mucous without any foul odor. However, if a woman's leucorrhea changes, especially if it turns green, she should pay special attention to whether she has cervical disease. In addition, gynecological diseases such as bacterial vaginitis and chronic cervicitis can also cause abnormal leucorrhea. These should all attract special attention, so what is the cause of lumps of leucorrhea?

What is the reason for the green vaginal discharge?

1. Why does the leucorrhea turn green? It may be caused by cervical disease. There are two common cervical diseases, namely cervicitis and cervical erosion.

2. Green vaginal discharge is caused by bacterial vaginosis. Bacterial vaginosis is a mixed infection of vaginal Gardnerella and some hypoxic bacteria, which leads to an imbalance of the microecological balance in the vagina, causing increased vaginal secretions, fishy odor of vaginal discharge, and itching and burning of the vulva.

3. Trichomonas vaginitis. The leucorrhea may be slightly green, which may be caused by Trichomonas vaginitis and can be treated with local medication.

4. Chronic cervicitis and endometritis: Abnormal green leucorrhea may also be a manifestation of cervicitis, or endometritis, etc. Generally, leucorrhea is manifested by increased leucorrhea, which is yellow or yellow-green, and purulent and sticky.

5. Gardnerella vaginitis: Gardnerella vaginitis is also called Haemophilus vaginitis. Symptoms include redness and swelling of the female vulva, congestion of the vaginal mucosa, gray-red color, mild redness and swelling, and the secretions are mostly homogeneous, thin, gray-white, sometimes milky yellow or green, and have a fishy smell.

What to do if your vaginal discharge turns green

1. Go to the hospital for treatment

When you find that your leucorrhea has turned green, no matter what your health condition is, it is recommended that you go to the obstetrics and gynecology department of the hospital and let the doctor perform a gynecological examination, check the vaginal secretions, and do bacterial culture if necessary. For your own health, you should go to a qualified hospital for treatment.

2. Drug treatment

After the test results come out, medication should be carried out under the guidance of a doctor. There are oral medications and topical medications. These must be done under the doctor's orders and you cannot take the medicine at will. Topical medications are usually taken before bedtime, allowing the drug to stay longer and thus achieve the therapeutic effect.

3. Pay attention to some drug reactions

When taking metronidazole orally to treat trichomoniasis, because the drug is particularly bitter, you should prepare more water when taking the medicine to dilute the bitterness. After taking it, there will be some gastrointestinal reactions, such as nausea and vomiting. If you experience any reactions such as rash or headache, contact your doctor immediately so that you can stop taking the medication.

4. Pay attention to personal hygiene

When the leucorrhea is green, while taking medication for treatment, you should also pay attention to keeping the vulva clean and dry. Avoid scratching when your vulva is itchy, which can cause skin damage. During the treatment period, couples are prohibited from having sex, and underwear should be made of cotton and changed frequently.

5. Pay attention to regular inspections

Trichomonas vaginitis often recurs after menstruation, so after treatment, it is necessary to check the vaginal discharge for dripping
