Can hysteroscopy check the patency of fallopian tubes?

Male reproductive organ diseases need to be diagnosed and treated through various gynecological examinations. Hysteroscopy is one of the common gynecological examination methods, which is mainly used to observe the condition of the uterus. If necessary, curettage and reexamination of tissues are required for pathological diagnosis. So, can hysteroscopic surgery detect the condition of both fallopian tubes? The following editor will give you a detailed introduction.

Can hysteroscopy detect the status of both fallopian tubes?

Hysteroscopy can check whether the fallopian tubes on both sides are unobstructed, but the results are not as accurate as those obtained by angiography, and the exact location and degree of the blockage cannot be determined. In addition, the preparations required for routine examinations and treatments are also different. For bilateral fallopian tube disease, the best way to check is angiography, which requires that the patient be checked between the third and seventh days after the menstrual period ends. Sexual intercourse should not be performed for at least three days before the test, and a routine leucorrhea test should be done to rule out vaginitis. It can accurately reflect the patient's condition by taking X-rays, and understand whether the development of the bilateral fallopian tubes in the uterus is normal; whether the shape of the uterine cavity is normal, whether there is uterine adhesion; whether the bilateral fallopian tubes are unobstructed and the degree of smoothness; the location and degree of blockage; whether there is water retention; whether the shape is twisted or raised, all of which can be seen clearly on the film. The treatment for different bilateral fallopian tube diseases is different, and the choice of treatment is based on the angiography film. There are several ways to check the bilateral fallopian tubes:

1. Hydrotubation: Hydrotubation is a procedure in which a tube is inserted into the uterine cavity and medication is injected through the tube. The medication is then injected from the uterine body into the bilateral fallopian tubes to the pelvis. If all the aqueous solution can be successfully pushed in and no liquid flows back after the pressure in the syringe is released, it means that both fallopian tubes are unobstructed; if the frictional resistance is very large and the aqueous solution flows back after the pressure in the syringe is released, it means that the fallopian tubes are blocked; if there is frictional resistance and most of the liquid flows back in small amounts, then both fallopian tubes are unobstructed.

2. Iodized oil contrast examination of the uterus and bilateral fallopian tubes: Iodized oil is introduced into the uterus with X-ray developing solution, and a film is taken after the injection to observe the shape and size of the uterus and whether the bilateral fallopian tubes are smooth.

3. X-ray hysterography: X-ray hysterography can show the size, shape, position of the uterus and the shape of both fallopian tubes from the monitor and X-ray images. It is currently the most reliable method to diagnose the patency of bilateral fallopian tubes, with an accuracy rate of over 95%.

4. Laparoscopic examination: Place a 7mm diameter endoscope into the abdominal cavity through the navel to observe whether there is adhesion between the bilateral fallopian tubes and the uterus and ovaries. Introduce colored plate liquid into the uterus. If the bilateral fallopian tubes are smooth, the fluid will be discharged from the umbrella end. If they are not thin, the bilateral fallopian tubes will swell.
